I posted these pictures on General Matte Discussion a while ago not knowing where to post it. I thought I would move it here hoping it will get more attention.
I know these soldiers are Johillco Guards and Lifeguards. Are these all part of the Household Guards in winter uniforms? The following from Wikipedia."The King's Guard (called the Queen's Guard when the reigning monarch is female) are sentry postings at Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace, organised by the British Army's Household Division. The Household Division also mounts sentry postings at Horse Guards, known as the King's Life Guard (called the Queen's Life Guard when the monarch is female)".
I'm hoping someone can tell me how old they are, I'm assuming post-war but that's a 22 year period and I'm hoping to narrow it down. Hopefully the price on the box will help and the box itself. There are a few pieces of the string inside that was used to tie the figures to the box.
Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom. Sorry I've missed your posts until today - I rarely look at this Forum anymore due mainly to lack of activity on the subjects that I'm interested in. My paramount interest is Britains hollowcast figures, and their modern iterations made by Hocker and by Hiriart. The formerly prolific Hiriart poster has disappeared, and Hocker's brilliant latest work has been roundly condemned on this Forum.... But on to the important stuff! This Johillco set replicates Britains set 429 Scots Guards and Life Guards in winter dress. The Life Guards in particular are a close copy of Britains set 400. I've got examples of both makes and they are very close indeed. Britains Foot Guards in winter dress is set 312. It comprised 7 Guards and their Officer. I don't know enough about Johillco to attempt a date based on the box style.

Mike, no problem. I appreciate the information on those Johillco figures. I pretty much only have Britains and bought this set before I decided to try to collect only Britains. Thanks again.
