I picked out a few of my favorites from The Lord Nelson Gallery by artist John Buxton...

Blacksmith of Venango 1752 by John Buxton

This is a portrait of John Frazier who, with a few other English traders on the upper Allegheny river in 1752, were visited by friendly local natives that appreciated his skill at metal repair. By mid-1753 the French had taken his cabin in Venango and he fled to Turtle Creek near the Monongahela River. His cabin there was visited by young George Washington in 1753 and 1754.

The Deserter is great...I wish I had a better or bigger picture of it...I would use it as my desk top image on my computer screen...

It reminds me of David Wright's...The Captives...which I do use for for desk top computer screen image...

Every time I see either of those prints...bad images come to mind for what's in store for the captives.:eek:
 
I changed my background last night from Captives to Braddock wounded.

John is one of my favorite artists. I have exchanged emails with him several times and he is a real nice guy. He does some pretty awesome stuff. Here is my favorite:
