Have avoided posting here as normal for a couple of weeks, but wanted to follow up a thread I'd started regarding viewing JJD figures (as I won't buy unless seen)

Anyway, after some help from the chaps at Treefrog, John invited me and the missus to his incredibly interesting workshop in HK today. I'd already given John an idea of the pieces I wanted to view buy, but he went well out of the way to accomodate us even down to showing us how he sculpts his figures and the next few months (and years) of releases (I 109% won't say; I promised).

Anyway, I walked away with a very nice assortment of pieces covering English Civil War, Great War (including the stunning new lozenged cammo release) and the Monongahela 10th anniversary pieces.

I just wanted to share the first couple of pictures I've taken and will add more when I open the boxes. Unfortunately, my light box isn't big enough for the bi-plane, the two sets of ground crew and the pilot! Something new to work on.

After having made a short thread long, I just wanted to say, 'Excellent bloke and stunning pieces'.

Green with envy at your new acquisitions, Vicknor!^&cool

Is there a new pilot figure in the pipeline?

Or two sets of ground crew?

Don't believe that I've seen pics of those yet.

I got 2-sets of the German ground crew. Will post tomorrow with the new August bi-plane

Superb pictures Vicknor, they really show the quality of John's products. Thanks for posting.

Congratulations on being the first to receive the new Wars of the Roses releases! :salute::

Roy - truth be told, I could have spent the full year's budget during the visit. Unfortunately, John wouldn't sell me the upcoming Bosworth/Civil pieces although happy to show me.

Luckily, everyone will enjoy the upcoming knights and banner men. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to purchase ahead of release
