I'm currently reading Silent Night about the 1914 truce on the western front. Well yesterday turned on the tv and a French made version Joyeux Noel was on. This was one of the better movies I have seen in awhile. A very interesting turn of events on that Christmas. If yous get a chance see it.

I also enjoyed the movie. Unusual story based on real events (for the most part) and one of the few times that I have ever seen the French red and blue uniforms on screen. I believe Malcolm Brown has also done a book on the subject. -- Al

Yes, a top movie showing the stupidity of war, where the 'poor bloody infantry' would have rather settled the battle with FOOTBALL MATCH, they all enjoyed a few drinks down the pub afterwards.

Its was the general staff thak kept the bloodshed going on for so long !!!!
