WW1 Parade Series

GW105: Its been a while since we topped up our WW1 1st Guards Grenadiers and at last we have some more. For those of you unfamiliar with the regiment read on: The 1st (Emperor Alexander) Guards Grenadier regiment was formed after the Napoleonic wars of liberation on 14 October 1814 by order of King Frederick William 111 of Prussia. It was named in honour of Tsar Alexander 1 of Russia, who was also its first colonel in chief. Parts of the formation had distinguished themselves in the 1807 siege of Kolberg, where most of its officers were decorated with the Iron Cross or the order Pour le Merite after this action. The regiment was elevated to the rank of a royal guard on 18 February 1820 and based in Berlin at Alexander Platze before moving to larger barracks also in Berlin. The Guards Grenadiers later saw active service in the Franco Prussian war of 1870 and during WW1.

Our Guard Grenadiers are dressed as they would have been for ceremonial duties until 1918.

The A version with grey rectangular base and the B version with round free form grass base.
Comes in a four man box and is priced at $165/£154 per set. To follow on in this series there will be a flag bearer and a boy prince officer plus a few other surprises like a new regiment which will also make an appearance.

MAIN HEADER.jpg

Dear All
Welcome to our July 2020 newsletter with some great new additions which I hope will not disappoint. The winter Panzer 4 was not quite ready for shipping this month but should make an appearance early August as well as some exciting new items for the Pacific war series and also four new figures for the Boer war. For those of you wondering about the 'Battle' comic strip in the header, it's a hint of what is to come later in the year, called 'Victory in New Guinea', watch this space for details.

Victorian Wars (New Series)

The Second Boer War was fought between the British empire and the Boers who were settlers mainly of Dutch origin living in the South African Republic and the Orange Free State. Initially the Boers were successful and won some notable victories which galvanised the British government to send more troops to the troubled region.
Soldiers from all over the British empire took part in the long bloody conflict including Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Eventually through conducting a scorched earth policy, the rounding up of civilians into concentration camps and overwhelming military numbers on the battlefield, led to more and more Imperial victories and eventually the British empire forced the Boers to the negotiating table in 1902. All is fair in love and war as they say.

Our first set of Seaforth Highlanders released last month have nearly all gone. For those of you who like multiples of the the kneeling and standing firing type soldier we do have B versions coming of VW002/003, once again in limited numbers, when they appear.

VW004 The Marksman: A prone firing Highlander takes aim at the Boers, this soldier wearing the slouch hat popular in the South African campaign.
Limited to 100 in number and priced at $45/£40 per figure.

Also some more pics of ACC PACK 054 from a different angle. There are no photos of the A version for either of these ACC PACKS (no decals variant) at the moment as the factory did not deem it necessary to send samples, same problem we had with ACC PACK 064, US fuel barrels. I cannot explain the logic or reason behind this thought process, I am simply resigned to the fact that there is no logic!

WW1 Parade Series

I think one of these Grenadiers was washed at the wrong temperature and they have shrunk? Or it was an early picture of the first bring your son to work day.

An excellent mix of series this month and some teasers for the future.

Will order the four new German troopers, Will look good when used with the previous tank riders, little dio of the tank riders on the Panzer IV with the marching troopers alongside.

The new winter Panzer IV looks good, wondering how many versions, will there be multiple versions with different markings like the camo versions?

Also please note that ACC PACK 052A and 054A we have now been told by the factory are the variant with decals, the B version no decals. It would have helped had the factory labelled the samples but once again logic defied them and they did not bother.
Honestly I don't see how the day could get any worse, sometimes you just feel like banging your head against a brick wall. The newsletter which is due to go out shortly will show the correct details.
The B version will be available next month and will not be available with this months release.
