Our second aircraft is a familiar one with Gunn with hopefully more to come in the following years. The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was a German dive bomber and ground attack aircraft employed by the Luftwaffe during WW2. It first flew in 1935 and made it's combat debut in Spain in support of the Nationalists. The Stuka sported a distinctive gull shaped wing design and fixed undercarriage spats, to these was fixed the Jericho trumpet which made a wailing noise as the aircraft descended to attack its target, this noise became synonymous with Blitzkrieg propaganda movies.

Employed by the Luftwaffe in all its major campaigns, the Stuka fared well right up until the battle of Britain where it was decimated by the RAF's Hurricanes and Spitfires. However in other theatres the Stuka continued to operate effectively especially in the Balkans and on the Russian front as a tank destroyer. Over 6,500 Stuka's were made during its service career and our new B version is one of the most easily photographed variants of the Desert campaign, sporting a distinctive snake adorning the length of its fuselage.

A limited edition of 5 of these models are available worldwide for immediate delivery today priced at $750 plus $100 postage to exotic locations like Australia and the USA.

WOW178 'Desert Snake' Stuka comes with FJ034 sentry figure fee with our compliments.

Welcome to our July 2018 newsletter featuring 2 new limited edition warbirds. As a general rule of thumb most models will be 1/30 scale unless it is one of the larger twin or four engine aircraft. and then it will be 1/32 scale. All our models are hand carved Mahogany and take around 60 hours to manufacture, each comes with a detailed interior and display stand and more often than not a free figure from our current range. All our aircraft can be paid for over 1-6 months to make buying them more affordable, if you require details please let us know via email.

WOW 201 Mitsubishi Type 100 reconnaissance aircraft (Dinah as known by the Allies) was borne from a request by the Japanese army in December 1937 in their search for a replacement for the Mitsubishi Ki-15 observation aircraft.

The new design resulted in a twin engine low wing monoplane with a retractable undercarriage. The fuselage was extremely narrow in order to streamline the design and maximise speed, with the crew separated by a fuel tank placed in the middle of them. Further fuel tanks were situated in the thin wings, both inboard and outboard of the engines, giving a total fuel capacity of 1,490 litres (328 imperial gallons). Initial tests showed the Dinah to be slower than the Army's initial requirement of 600 KMPH, however as the type was still faster than the Army's latest fighter, the Nakajima Ki-43 and the Navy's A6 Zero, an initial production batch was ordered with improvements in speed requested.

During the early stages of the war the Dinah was immune to Allied fighter interception, but the army realised improvements would need to be made to outpace the Spitfire and Lightning. This was done by removing the rear defensive machine gun and replacing the engines with a more powerful variant. These final improvements made the Dinah a hard bird to kill and successes were few and far between for Allied pilots trying to down one.

As the war progressed some Dinah's were converted to night-fighters with forward and upwards firing cannon in order to counter the B-29 Superfortress threat. Something like 1700 Dinah's were manufactured but with only one survives to this day and is on display in the UK at RAF Cosford.
We have a total of 5 Dinah's available all priced at $750 plus $100 postage if you live in the USA or Australia, for those of you in Europe or UK please contact us for an individual quote as postage will vary depending on where you live. We are pleased to offer RS053 Japanese sentry free with this model as depicted in the below pictures, all the other excellent figures shown are for scale reference purposes only.
