Flynn with the first mullet ever.

My favorite scene in that movie is the trooper who gets hit with an arrow in the back and when he whirls around, it's sticking in a pillow that the prop department stuffed into his shirt......................

Little known fact ..... The 7th Cavalry was actually issued pillows for situations just like that, but Custer decided to leave them behind along with the gatling guns.

Good old movie, and only Errol can make a buffoon look like a hero.....................

Thanks for posting this as the 140th anniversary of the Battle of Little Bighorn was recent.

I was at this battle site on June 20th and they were getting prepared for a big re-enactment.

Besides a 20 hour drive(one way) for me, I enjoyed this national park. The history here was grizzly and it is the most studied American battle besides Gettysburg. Over 3,000 books have been written about the battle. The best part for me was that this area of land has mostly been untouched for the last 140 years and the park has done a great job to keep it that way. Sitting Bull won the battle but lost the war. Custer made a series of significant unfortunate mistakes for the 7th Cavalry. Having Major Reno under his command certainly didn't help his cause. A lot of people peg Custer as an idiot. To me, the Boy General was not that. He fought in 41 Civil War battles and had his horse shot out from under him 11 times. It's very obvious that his command decisions were not based on thinking the Native Americans were going to stay and fight. The battle and Custer's life was over in 3 hours. So was the fate of America's Manifest Destiny and the free life of all of the remaining Native Americans.

If you ever go here, make sure you take the highway exit stop named Garryowen. There is a private collection there of 1,200 items related to the battle. It's well worth your time and the $7 entry fee.
