John Travers Cornwell VC (8 January 1900 – 2 June 1916), commonly known as Jack Cornwell or as Boy Cornwell, is remembered for his gallantry at the Battle of Jutland. Having died at the age of only 16, he was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Cornwell is the third-youngest recipient of the VC after Andrew Fitzgibbon and Thomas Flinn

Also thanks to Roy and Pete for their help on the day of the show.

THE GREAT WAR- GERMAN A7V TANK

The A7V was a tank introduced by Germany in 1918, during World War I. One hundred chassis were ordered in early 1918, ten to be finished as fighting vehicles with armoured bodies, and the remainder as cargo carriers. The number to be armoured was later increased to 20. They were used in action from March to October of that year, and were the only tanks produced by Germany in World War I to be used in operations.

This new WW1 Tank will have a hinged door, and removable canopies to reveal interior detail.
There will be 10 crew figures to accompany this model, available at a later date.

Last month we announced the SOUTH CAROLINA Provincial Regiment (RRBSC-02)

Due to a mistake in my research, the uniform of the SOUTH CAROLINA Provincial Regiment (RRBSC-02) was incorrect.
The Breaches of the SOUTH CAROLINA Provincial Regiment were Blue not Red.
I have had the figures re-painted, and I attach pictures of the correct sets.

The sets when they are released this month will have the corrected Breaches.

As the youngsters say these days, (and in my best valley girl accent), "OMG!". The French medics look spectacular and I love the 3 man stretcher team. The A7V is a monster and with a 10 man crew will be no small financial investment but will be a must have. What a remarkable idea, to make the A7V open up with a detailed interior. Going to be a centerpiece. -- Al

Very Snazzy on colors of the South Carolina colonials, but those WW I figures are truly superb !!!!

I'm looking forward to that tank. I've been taking a break from WW I, even though my German display has some space. I'm glad I waited. Will get all the accompanying crew.

Yikes the rest of the year releases in this lot. Keep saving is the watch word. ^&cool Robin.

Best and freshest series on the market. Never been touched to the extent that John is doing it. I just have to catch up.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Just wondering how the rear French stretcher guy works, it appears he has a strap over his neck connected to the stretcher. Surely he is removable, but the strap seems to hold him in place. Any thoughts? Robin.

you got a good eye Robin...

I bet the strap is permanently attached to the end his hand...
there is a hole through the strap...and a hole through his hand...
and the stretcher poles just slide in and out...

As I remember from yesterday, he has a small 'end pole' in each hand and they slide into holes in the stretcher.

Al my man your showing your age :wink2: haven't heard a valley girl accent since the late 80's. I hear what your saying that A7V looks incredible and with JJ's track record when producing vehicles it will also be a must have for me as well. It will be my first vehicle from JJ and I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product, I've been hoping he would do this one for a long time.... Gebhard

Is there any indication of how much the A7V ill cost. All that interior detail is going to make it a bit more expensive than some of the other AFVs so I'd like to start organizing the second mortgage as soon as I can!

With all those crew figures it should be an impressive beast. Any idea which particular A7V is represented or will it be "generic"?

I've been wondering many of the same things. Wotan would work for me as a title, here is a possible lineup for a crew definitely not gonna be cheap.

The A7V will be a big investment if you go all in for the full 10 man crew. Even if John can keep the tank in the $200-$250 range, which is problematic, considering what looks like a lot of interior detail, the figures are probably going to be near $40 apiece, on average. I'd say you are looking at a minimum of $600 for the whole set up. Of course, the cost is all relative. The bus, driver, and riders total $524; the 6" howitzer with full crew runs $518; the 3 FT-17's with commanders will cost $628. This ain't a cheap hobby, eh?:wink2:^&grin -- Al

There were only 20 A7V and all their names are known. I wonder how many models will get made? There may be enough actual names for each model to get one. Note that none of the A7V were named "Lurchio" ^&grin

Perhaps JJD will go for "Mephisto" as its A7v as its the only surviving example and it was captured by the Australians.

It probably will be expensive but tanks with detailed interiors don't come along very often (the Figarti Tiger) and so will be worth purchasing.

The Figarti Tiger was quite a special tank and nothing that ever leave my collection.

No its definitely not but sometimes something comes along so ****ed impressive that ya just gotta go for it. For me this is one of those items, always been fascinated with A7V ^&grin
