My compliments to TGM. I purchased my first TGM mat pairing it with the Jungle Hut (purchased through Treefrog). I love the mat which is perfect for book shelves and other smaller displays with a favorite vehicle or set of figures. Figures and howitzer by K&C.

Here's the scene:

Brings back memories of setting up dioramas with Marx sets as a kid.

Your setup looks really nice!

The TGM mats are great items for the price. Personally, I do prefer the more expensive “3D” diorama terrain mats from the likes of JG Miniatures, Build-a-Rama, etc. to the 2D images on the TGM mats depicting grassy or rocky terrain. Nevertheless, the TGM mats depicting flat surfaces like a carrier deck or runway tarmac can’t be beat 😎

Makes for a great permanent shelf display. Robin.
It does Robin, tx.

Thanks Tman. Interesting point. I purchased one of the Build-a-Rama grass mats several years ago. Although I've used it for a number of scenes, I never really liked it. Due to the water area, it does not lay flat and to me, has a material-like look. Figures do not stand well on it either. I like these TGM mats for the clean stable surface. I'd like to see some matching backdrops of the same material.

You’ve got a good point there, WesternOutlaw. I’ve always had issues with figures standing on the BAR or JGM terrain mats and those figures with smaller bases are the worst at staying put. Fixing the mat to a hard surface (like a board) and using poster tack to secure the figures helps with stability though, and I like the 3D effect of the terrain. However, the TGM bases, due to their design, are definitely very stable and they are quality items.
