I saw "Jurassic World" last night, and I was pleasantly surprised; it was better than I expected, definitely better than the two sequels to the original film. The dinosaurs are the stars, of course, and despite comments I'd heard from others, dismissing the CGI effects, the animation is excellent. And though the dinosaurs are the stars, the human actors did rather well. There are likeable characters who catch your interest and hold it. I still think there are a couple of flaws, starting with the premise--how many more times can we see a plot consisting of, "Man resurrects dinosaurs, overreaches his grasp, and people get eaten"? Also, one subplot involves training raptors, but once it was proven very graphically that the training could be broken, those with an interest in using the animals didn't get the message, which seemed weak to me. And I like to call the male lead, Owen (played very well by Chris Pratt), the "Raptor Whisperer." But those things didn't take away from the entertainment for me. I'll buy this for my library, eventually, to go with the earlier movies.

"Jurassic World"--three sickle claws up.

Prost!

My younger son and I saw it last weekend in 3D IMAX and we really enjoyed it. There is a good balance between human and dino characters making the movie fun to watch. The giant amphibian/croc dino was very cool. I think that's one among the best of this franchise.

I also enjoyed it and I thought it was as good if not better than the other Jurassic Park films. Good story, action and special effects.

If you think the man screws up nature plot is getting old, one might note that the mad scientist got away with the dino recipes, just in time for the next sequel or 2.. Michael

I guess it's not that plot itself, but rather, that plot in the framework of "Jurassic Park". One would think that after the first disaster, that would have been it, but we're watching basically the same characters doing the same thing over and over. How many times can they make the same mistake? It's becoming a video game that we pay to watch in theaters.

Prost!

Thanks for the review Brad. I really enjoy 1 and 3 in this series and am looking forward to this, heard good things about the effects.
