I just acquired two K & C Warbirds and thought I'd share photos. We had met a collector in Chicago and finally received them today. They're even better than I'd hoped.

Hey Brad nice going! I'm glad you had better luck then I did on my Jadpanther! They really look nice! Hope you have a nice spot all picked out for them!

Njja:)

Thanks John. Unfortunately space is tight but I do have some space. What ever happened with your Jadgpanther. Did you guys manage to get together?

Brad,

If your tight on space I have a nice spot picked out on my display case for those warbirds:D

Tight but not that tight. Room enough for some of yours Bill ;)

You fellows have given me a what I think is a really great idea. I have a lot of spare space in my home and I would, as a public service to you space poor collectors, offer to store any K&C miniatures (on a long-term - shall we say perment basis) absolutely free of charge. Interested??

Let me think about it. Ok I thought about it: NOT!:D

I had about as much luck dealing with her as President Bush had with Sad-Man-Hussen.
Come to think of it Sad-Man was probably more logical and easer to deal with.
I left the story under Wood Jadpanther Thread.

I think by now my Blood Pressure is down to say 350/600 or so.

King & Country made a beautiful Tempest in these markings, a plane I would kill to acquire, but, alas, I have never had the chance. I did recently purchase a K&C winter Stuka. Its a cool plane with 30 mm guns under the wings.

Yes, I've seen the pictures. Somehow, I assumed you had it. The one I ordered looks somewhat like the K & C version, with D Day stripes. They have one on their website in blue, which is nice but that looks to me like a postwar version (with the ? mark and the lightning bolt).

I also saw a Beaufort Night fighter, which I'm toying with ordering next, although I'll probably wait until this one comes before I do that.

Hi Brad,

I looked in the website of Motion Models and wasn't able to find the Tempest. Are you asking for a custom model? And what is the scale? 1/30 I presume?

If K&C doesn't intend to make warbirds in a short period of time, I think I'll order the M.C. 200 in 2006 and one of the M.C. 202 the other year.

My best regards,
Pierre.

Hello Pierre,

Andy indicated he hopes to resume production of wood warbirds, but the two models he indicated he wanted to start with are a Waco Glider for U.S. Airborne and a Feisler Storch (Rommel's for use with Afrika Corps). If they work out there will hopefully be more.

Pierre,

If you look under the RAF, Allies models section, you'll see there is one for custom models. Going down to the bottom of that section is a Tempest and I ordered that scheme originally but then when I looked on the www.hawkertempest.se site, I saw one that I liked better. For the most part, in order to get a model the way a K & C plane would be -- gear down -- it will be a custom job. Also, they will make it for you in any scale you want, 1/30/ 1/32, what have you. They will also make any plane you want with any scheme you want even if it's not listed in their website. So, if you want on with Canadian markings, that is not a problem. Just give them a call. BTW, here's a nice site I discovered, http://www.elknet.pl/acestory/aces.htm
But I'm sure there are tons of sites out there for great ideas.

If you want to know how much it would cost, please email me.

I'm hoping that Andy makes these. I will surely buy them. I also think that for Andy to make them and to continue making them we need to encourage him by our words and actions to do so. If he sees there is a market, he will make them. If we don't buy them, he won't. So, I encourage everybody, to the extent they can afford to do so, to buy the planes he will make.

I agree whole heartedly. Plus, Andy will be doing pilots, groundcrew, polystone fuel trucks, RAF and Luftwaffe vehicles and motorcycles, as well as polystone diorama pieces like the quonset hut and control tower he has previously made in wood and papier mache. I think these complete airwar related scenes will be highly collectable, especially as the planes will relate back to the rare and individually produced early Warbirds. Can you imagine how fantastic these scenes will be? Once I have set up my RAF diorama with custom made control tower, quonset hut, fuel bowser, RAF Ambulance, ground crew, original wood Jeep, RAF Dispatch rider and MP, all the Allied pilots, Churchill and Clark Gable, I will post a photograph. I am going to e-mail Brad a photo of the control tower and see if he can post it for me.

Here it is. As Larry David might say "pretty, pretty awesome."

It got even better before they sent it: they added airfield numbers, a scratch built radio and chart table, and a few other details that really made the control tower special. Andy's brother Gordon, who excecutes most of K&C's custom dioramas, did a really spectacular job. He also recently made Hans and I Streets of Hong Kong diorama bases like the ones K&C custom produced back in the mid 1990's.

Awesome.

For sure, I'll buy both the Fieseler Storch and the Waco Glider, not only to encourage Mr. N. to produce more airplanes but because K&C is the best manufacturer in military figures and from what I can see on that photo, a new serie based on warbirds will be, undoubly, magnificient.

As Mr. Neilson is reading the posts in the forum, do you intend to issue figures based on the Kriegsmarine? We don't need the Bismarck or the Tirpitz at the 1/30 scale to enjoy them. In fact, the FOB005 figure is the most interesting one, in my opinion, of the Field of Battle serie wich is an extradonary one ( I have the nine figures).

My best regards,
Pierre.

I edited the picture to make it larger, to give a fuller sense of the tower. You've lost a little sharpness but gained a bit more detail as it were.
