Am quite happy with the set except for one accuracy error that I will get to below. Overally the figures are great. I love the expressions -- reflecting the despiration of the Marines situation. Will probably pick up another set if I can fit it into the budget before they sell out.

My one gripe is that the figure with binoculars spotting for the gunner is holding an M1 Carbine. The first M1 Carbines were delivered in June 42 and didn't show up in Marine hands until after Guadalcanal. I will chalk it up to artistic license.

Upon closer inspection last night--(out of the box), I had noticed that too. An obvious mistake, but like you said, not a total loss. I think it could be replaced or if one must--the magazine could be cut off for authenticity purposes. I will leave mine alone, as he is kneeling behind the sandbags, and the rifle is not too visible.................Stryker

Oh you lucky people.

I've decided to wait for the Japanese landing craft to be released, then have the entire range plus some multiples * shipped to Beijing - and I reckon that'll be sometime in November. It'll cost me'n'the wife ** a couple of airflights plus a couple of nights in some fleapit hotel, but it'll be worth it to get this range into our collection. All of which means I can live with a discrepency in one of the figures. And like Stryker suggests, you can convert the M1 carbine - or substitute it for something else - or hide it in some other way.
It's not ideal having to do this on a new release, but its hardly going to stop the world spinning on its axis either.

* Which reminds me, I need to update my pre-order and double up on a few of the sets.

** Missus H will be travelling to Beijing with me cos it isn't just the Wake Island range we've ordered from Hobbybunker; and there's also a completely separate, (and different), order that's going to be sent from the UK around the same time. The two orders combined are going to weigh a ton, so I guess she'll need a bit of a hand from me - in humping all that stuff home.
:(:(....:):):):)

Cheers
Harry
