OOpps!

Maybe Pete Shannon or Brad can delete the rabbit. The edit button isn't showing.

BTW, that is Sam. I found her in garbage downstairs, got her cleaned up and found a home for her. She is one fun loving and life loving playfull little wabbit. We miss her.

Anyway, yeah the old Britains Deetail will forever be my favorite. That bike is so cool. I am trying to find more of them.

They do seem much less common these days. I find them on eBay once in a blue moon - far less that I used to.

Oh come on! You have to leave the rabbit on there.

Let this be a tribute to Sam...(and to Gideon for the rescue work!)

I'm no expert in Deetail - when would that have been produced (the motorcycle, not the rabbit)?

Gideon,

I thought you did that on purpose. If your really want me to, I can but I think it's kind of funny:)

The m/c is early to mid 1970's. Bike is diecast.

How it is thaat noone is producing something like this now is mind boggling - even if they sold for $10-12 bucks.

Hi Guys,

That was a great figure! I had that one and several of the other ones with sidecar and a couple of the Kubelwagens along with tanks from various other makers of course my brothers destroyed them but they were a lot of fun while I had them! Cute rabbit too.

All the best

Dave

Hey, at least you had them! I had to wait till I was an adult.

"We can't risk another frontal assault. That rabbit is dynamite."

I agree the deetail stuff is great ,
I Remeber goinig to fiji when I was about 12
and finding a whole heap of afrika korps and german stuff in
the back of a shop in nadi.Even back then Ak stuff
was the hardest to come by.
Unfortunatly I was operating on a kids budget so
only managed to get 4 or so sets :( .
E bay in the uk is the best bet for this,I see it
for sale localy a bit aswell.

I've tried eBay UK but that market is also the hottest for the Deetail series.

You know, I have managed to keep some very special things from ym wheeling and dealing:

Original Afrika Corps counter packs. Every once in a while I list one on eBay and they normally ship to Europe.

Its been a while since I have kept up with the prices on them,
I bought the last vehicles I have about 18 months ago and
they where fetching about 35-45 pounds for a boxed kublewagon etc
with the exception of the Ak kublewagon which always seemed to be
100 pounds plus.
Where they sold widely in the US new ?

I wouldn't say widely. They were at the local specialty and hobby shops if you were lucky. They were bot easy to get - the figures- yeah but not the vehicles.

I have always had a soft spot for them - I think their sculpters really caught the lines of vehicle very well.

availability was pretty much the same here.
Plenty of figures but not so many vehicles, my favourite
piece is the AK sidecar I got mine used so he is missing
the passenger one of these days i,ll track one down.
The big sets containing a few vehicles and figures would be great
to get hold off.
good luck with the hunt .
cheers Rob

You need to watch out for those rascally wabbits!

Hi Guys,

I actually picked up the bulk of the AK and other neat vehicles and figures from FAO in NYC. Had to love those 4-6 hours in the car day trips with mom dad and all of the siblings. FAO was definately the only good thing of those trips aside from the great bagels and locs!

All the best

Dave

The rabbit's got a mean streak a mile wide . . . nasty sharp fangs . . . look at the bodies!

Please don't remind me. I stuck my hand in the cage to change her water and charged me. She was fierce and bit hard.

She's a brawler who had Duke (our ex-racer greyhound - click his name to see his lineage) severly on edge. She was the coolest rabbit I ever met. Mostly she just wanted to get pets and play.
