Dear
fellow friends, painters, converters, sculptors and supoportes of the toy soldier trade --
I would like to use some webspace to briefly say hello to everybody mentioned above. I am happy that I found this forum. Being "hooked" by toy and model soldiers for more than 30 years I decided to spend more time with the glossy-side of the hobby. I have been trying out sculpting by more than ten years now and I am toying with the idea trying my hand on -a- (or even better -some- !) toy soldier sets. First thing I am not a professional I am doing my sculpting as a passion more than a hobby but without any comercial back up. I am most attracted by the traditional glossy 1/32 scale sets. I will keep up with my 75 mm Elastolin's (Yes I am german) both creating and converting but felt like starting something new I have never tried out before.

I have just started sculpting some dollies in 54mm in Miliput which I will than cast and use as framework for further detailed sculpting.
So far I have been around in 75mm and 1/72 scales (see my avetar-figurine it is in 1/72 scale).
Looks like I found you just at the right time!!!

I did enjoy lot of the threads here so far. I love the "how to" ones, anything dealing with "painting" and converting really does make my day. Can' t get enough of this and being a greedy person hoping for even more. Got a lot of question which I will bother you with time after time.
As for today thanks to all your contributions and this most interesting Forum, - hopeing my dinglish made some sense - happy to be here
Best regards
Wolfgang

Hello Wolfgang, and thanks for the introduction. I have 2 comments for you.

First of all we would love to see some of your original work if you are able to share photos.

Secondly, it is too bad you did not wait a few days to join as member #1000.

Thanks again and welcome.

Mister Dave

Hi Wolfgang,
I'd like to add my welcome to the forum- despite being recently branded as "THE ANTI-GLOSSIE", I am actually warming to this kind of figure.
Don't be concerned about the Dinglish. I'm scottish so I naturally slaughter the English language.
Hope to see some of your work soon.
Ever thought about making figures set in The North-West Frontier circa 1880...???

Cheers
Nice H

Wolfgang,

You are one very talented person indeed, these sculpts are amazing given the size of the small figures.

Jeff

Welcome the the forum Wolfgang. I know you find this forum to be a friendly and welcoming place. And I am jealous as all get out over your sculpting talent. Very nice work indeed.

Wow, and DOUBLE WOW Wolfgang.
Thank you very much for showing us these images. I agree withJeff's assesment. Wonderful work indeed. Look forward to seeing more of your creations.

Respects
H

Very nice figures you have made Wolfgang, welcome to the forum and thank you for posting your pictures. I look forward to more of your posts.

I must agree with the others comments. You seem to have quite a gift for the sculpting. I would love to be able to sculpt figures of this quality. Thanks again for sharing your photos.

MD

Welcome Wolfgang, and thanks for posting some pics of some of your sculpts. I can't believe the detail you've got on to a 1/72 figure. Great work!

Simon

Wecome to the forum!!! Great work!!! I think I came across some of your work on this web site? http://www.croebern-1813.de/40199/41551.html
Is this some of your work on this web site? I posted a link to this site on the forum awhile back because I was blown away by this great diorama.

I also enjoy converting and painting figures and making dioramas. I,ve tried to sculpt also but without much luck, but I still try here and there for fun or to make a part or two for a conversion but I,m no sculpter thats for sure.:p

Maybe you could show us how you go about making a figure from scratch and give us a few tips and also show more of your conversion work?

I started a couple of threads on converting plastic figures here on the forum, do you convert plastic figures also? There are a few of us here who chop up plastics maybe you could post some of your conversions and give a run down on how you do yours in the how to section?

Welcome to the forum! I,m always glad to see more converters here!

Welcome Wolfgang,
Your figures are wonderful and you have a very unique figure style all your own.
Ray

Wolfgang,
A big welcome and wishes of happiness to you. There is a lovely glossy contingent on the forum that will welcome you. I' am also interested in how you convert figures. I have tried some and the result is...AN ENTIRE INVALID HOSPITAL OF CTA ZULUS!!!:eek::p:) Looking forward to it all. Mike

Särvus, Wolfgang!

Deine Figuren sehen ja toll aus, die sind alle aus eigener Hand?

Das Modellieren habe ich noch nicht gelernt, nur das Giessen, also, ein dreimaliges Respekt auf Dich, sag i’!

Also, wilkommen ins Treefrog-Forum, laß bald noc ‘was von Deiner Arbeit zeigen.

Es grüßt aus Bethlehem

This is a very cool link Tim. Those guys look like they are having a really good time.

Wolfgang, I was trying to read the photo captions and noticed you took some of the photos, but did not see you pictured with any of your mates. That is a great looking work space. How is that project shaping up now?
