Hello Everyone

I am really new here and these forums are great. I love our hobby and I am greatful for all the insight. Here is a crazy question, do any dealers offer the dreaded 'Layaway Plan'? I restrict myself with my wifes help as to what I can spend per month. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I do but that will not help you as I am Down Under. Here it is called Lay By.

I suggest you contact some USA dealers and see what they can do. With regular mail order customers I will send the shipment on day of first payment and then continue to take payments until paid off. However they are customers well known to me.

Regards
Brett

Thanks for the info. Almost visited the Land down under with the Marines long ago. I will check out your store online.

Stateside dealers.....slim to none on layaways. It wouldn't hurt to check around as you never know ^&confuse

Hi Chillywill,

I'm just guessing, but from the very friendly responses and outstanding cooperation I've always experienced from the various retailers in this business, I expect some of them might be happy to do a lay away for you, even if it is not part of their regular routine. It simply can't hurt to ask.

This it the type of courtesy that might be extended by a dealer when a customer has established himself with said dealer. He may have no official plan as such but might be willing to do a particular customer a favor. -- Al

Thanks Folks!!! Appreciate it much Planning to attend my Chicago Show this year really excited

I agree with this also_Once you establish a customer relationship with a dealer I'm sure most will take care of you. :smile2:

First Welcome to the Forum and to collecting.
I have been collecting for many years and have developed a relationship with a few vendors in my area. And YES, they do "hold" items for a while. I guess the bigger folks are a little more comfortable than the smaller folks. My take is, it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Good hunting!
