K&C Boxes for Sale?? (1 Viewer)

To me a box is just that a box, especially when you can use them interchangeably. However, if you can get all those boxes for $10 or so, that doesn't seem all that bad a deal.

For those collecting the old lead Britains, having the original box greatly adds to the value of the set. Even more so if the figures are still originally tied down. Will the same thing happen with King & Country stuff? There is certainly going to be a lot of confusion if future collectors insist on the "original" packaging or boxes for figures. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, the same K&C set could come in a variety of different sized boxes, with handwritten labels. Except for the cardboard packaging that came with the early building facades, I have saved most (not all) of my K&C boxes. However, I have picked up many K&C odds and ends over the years and most of these did not come with the "original" box. For the early K&C figures, I personally do not care if it comes in the "original" box. However, I would want the specially printed boxes for the current stuff e.g. the special boxes that the limited edition Napoleonics came in.

In time it will probably make a difference, from what i,ve seen most old toys are far more valuable with the original boxes in some cases the boxes are as valuable as the toys. But i suppose king and country are not toys they are designed as collector pieces so boxes etc will probably survive in much greater numbers, as opposed to old britains etc, that where childrens toys so suffered accordingly.

Bid up to $66!!!

With 2 days remaining, the high bid is $66 for the 29 empty K&C boxes -- even the boxes are rapidly appreciating in value!!!

When I sell retired K&C sets, I am frequently asked if the original box is included. It does mean something to hold onto them.

I bought a couple of Normandy Village facades this weekend and I asked if they had the original box and was told that if they had them, it would have been more. I don't get it. You buy an item and then you put the box again, maybe never to be seen again.

Final bid was $147.50!!!

The final bid for the 35 (changed from 29) empty K&C boxes was $147.50! We better store our K&C boxes very carefully.

For me I want the box when I buy the item and would try and avoid ones without boxes....it may seem silly now but in 10 years from now when a box is rare it will be just as important as it is with BRITAIN'S....my opinion only of course.....:)

If a guy has a choice between a figure in the original box a nd a figure without...who's do you think will sell first????

It may depend on the price Wellington. Usually, when you get that choice the boxed figure is more expensive. If they're the same price, obviously you go for the boxed figure.
