Hi all,

I stumbled upon this forum while looking for toy soldiers and am very happy with the information and resources that are available here. Anyway, a little bit about me: I used to collect toy soldiers way back when i was a kid. I still have a few figures from K&C 1938 Berlin series when they were still glossy with pink cheeks as well as a few sets of Britains.

Fast forward recently, I found a store in Singapore where they sell K&C figures and I am taken aback by the new SOOHK series. I fell in love with K&C since I was a kid and now I am starting to collect SOOHK series. I don't seem to see many people here collecting SOOHK series here, are they not popular? I like the paint job and level of detail they have. Here is the stuff I have so far, there is still lots of pieces before I consider them complete. Any ideas/comments on how to improve my diorama is recommended.

Also, besides SOOHK, I am thinking of starting a new collection from scratch, preferably from K&C range since are pretty consistent with pushing out new products, keeping us hobbyists wanting more. The question is, which series should I start? What series offers more depth in terms of amount of figures and is most actively collected by members here? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Jeffs, excellent collection you have there, really nice, thanks for posting and good to have you aboard.

Hi Jeffs,

good to hear from another avid collector, and like you I do like SOHK, even though I don't collect them.

Like you I love the colourful series, hence I go for Napoleonics :)

Anyway, you will find that the vast majority collect WW2 figures, but to each his own.....

Looking forward to more post from you, and I'm only about 4 hours south of you... in Perth :)

Selamat pagi,

John

Very nice collection Jeff! Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will have fun posting & learning new things about the toy soldier world just like I have :) I recomend heading down the path of the american marines next as they are made to fit in with your SOOHK figures.

Craig

Thanks guys. I'll look into the Marines and Napoleonics.

I see so many WW2 themed series, I do not even know where to choose from. Guess I'll have to spend more time in the shops to get a better feel.

Welcome to the forum jeffs,
colourful bunch of figures you have there. Me, I am living on the other side of the globe and I am a WWII collector especially BOB(battle took place in my country) and Normandy. But the K&C collection of figures is so diverse, that there is something for everybody
guy:smile2:

Hi Jeff,

I collect imperial Chinese , battle of the bulge and ancient greeks at the moment. I find old streets of Hongkong to be interesting but I just do not have the resources.:D

I am wondering if K&C is interested in coming out with old streets of Singapore one day, that will be even more interesting.

You do have a great collection of figures there and like you bought my figures from the same shop in singapore.:)

Gidday Jeffs

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting some pic's of your fine collection. I collect WWII collectables in the BBG, BBA, WS, DD, MG, AK and EA series and im only a short jump and skip away from you in Darwin Australia. I have been collecting K&C items since September last year and i haven't looked back. I think you will enjoy the hobby and the blokes on here are pretty knowledgeable and friendly with some pretty amazing dio's and collections.

Regards

Tom

Welcome to the forum Jeffs,

That's a lovely collection of SOHK you have there ^&cool My wife collects these as well, they are the best detailed and painted range that K&C produce imho. There are a few members that collect this range and there have been a few threads in the past showing these.

As for another range to collect, WW2 will probably be the most popular suggestion, but Napoleonics, AWI and Crimean War are very colourful and have some great looking sets and figures amongst them.

Jeff

Hi Jeffs, welcome to the Forum! You have a very nice Old streets of Hong Kong collection! I am at the other side of the world from you, Brazil, and here there are no K&C dealers, so I buy all my items from the US and sometimes Europe. I collect WWII, and I have been collecting K&C for the last 6 years. No doubt WWII is the most popular range, and biased as I am, I couldn`t suggest you anything else...^&grin But frankly K&C produces wonderful ranges with beautiful figures on many subjects/periods/conflicts and any way you go, I`m sure you`ll be happy and well supplied!

Dear Jeffs:

Welcome to the "Forum" at Treefrog treasures in Southeast, Minnesota, USA. I have been an adult collector since late 1991. I have obtained King & Country (K&C) since 1993 and K&C has been my main interest since about 1999. I have their SOOHK series and much of their World War One into World War Two ranges. You may look at the postings I have made of photos of my displays & dioramas via my Forum ID of "Iron Brigade" off of my member's account page. Good luck and as Andy Neilson always says, "Happy Collecting".
