As you will have seen in the OZ dinner thread the Crimea range is going to be continued. Now instead of this being a K&C UK project Hong Kong are picking up this ball themselves and running with it.

you are looking at November / Deemberfor this range and it WILL be add ons to what has been done as well as NEW additions. So if you have or are thinking about this range you can rest assured that the range is going to get a lot bigger.

Prices are not bad now either.............take a look. Outside the EU then you get a further 20% off of the range! WOW

I'm not absolutely sure but I believe the French had the largest army of all the Allies in the Crimea and they did the majority of the fighting/dying so hopefully we will be seeing some French figures for this range...I know I would be a buyer of them...but I would probably be a buyer of any other nationalities as well

Great news Tony! I need to complete the last few sets of the series now, all ready for the new releases at the end of this year. Thank you for making the series happen - I know it was a lot of time and effort - much appreciated....... Jameson

Very astute. The French were the largest Army there. They outnumbered the British Army by 150,000 troops. The Turkish Army was second in strength. The British third.

Most people think the British were the largest force and pay no attention to the other allied armies that were there. Like the; French; Turks; Sardinians; or German, Slavic and I believe Greek Legions. This is due to the fan fare of the plight of the six hundred. An issue still debated to this day. The act was actually created by a miscommunication from Cardigan and Lucan who did not like each other, about protecting the Naval Guns at the redoubt from being taken into Russian hands and instead the motion seemed to be at the Russian gun emplacements. No one will really ever no way captain Nolan aimed them at the wrong target, it was more then likely just a wrong hand signaled. Nolan died that day with a great many bonny boys so we will never really know. One of the most gallant charges in history of men that did what they were ordered to do. I thing about half of them were killed, wounded missing.

As I child I marveled at this and read and re-read the poem by Sir Alfred Lord Tennyson. We would draw pictures of and re-enact the charge as children galloping on our non existent steeds. I choose to stay with the romantic notion that Nolan and the boys really wanted some pay back.

You may still hear the charge played by Trumpeter Landfrey that was recorded for posterity in 1890 on an Edison wax reel. You can find it on the internet. I recommend it. Below is a picture of some of the suvivors of the charge. Life would never be the same.

Hopefully KC will make some of the other combatants. I for one need a few more cavalry poses for my Charge first:):)
