Excellent repair job though I fear the tough part will be paint matching....Good Luck.

Its great to see you showing this technique with close up images, I'm sure it will be of great help to others with a similar problem.

Its not only for camel tails though, I've recetly used this pinning for plumes on Napoleonic Shakos, musket barrels and arms.

Looking forward to you painting solution too :)

Wow _ I didn't know you could have a car delivered in all of those cardboard boxes - did it take long to put together? ^&grin Seriously, nice job M - johnnybach

Ah! - I see. Anyone ever told M that you can get black paint in big cans now! Must take ages with a 3X000 paint brush to do a car that big!{sm2}^&grin jb

that's a first class repair job...I'm willing to bet it's sturdier than the factory tail...the pin does wonders...for your gloss repair in your upcoming repaint touch up...may I suggest Krylon Clear Gloss spray...about $3-$4 a can...

It all started with nothing more than a bare metal body & Frame in Nov 2009...by Jan 2010 I entered the car as pictured into the 2010 Grand National Roadster Show in Los Angeles. Here is a couple of other pics...the most fun is the details and personality that goes into it. By the way I painted the Camel tail already and the secret was using a tint of green paint mixed with sand and almond. I will post pictures once I apply the gloss.

Re: K&C Glossy Camel Repair (tail) PAGE 4 (Follow up)

Here is the gloss quality. I actually used the same epoxy after paint had dried for the gloss. The epoxy dries into a nice high gloss and can be worked for at least 3 minutes without any stickiness that can cause imperfections.
