Norman,

RA1& RA2 Royal Artillery Sets - One set contains a Maxim Gun and the other is an Artillery set

PB1 - Pipe Band in Khakhi - Usually 11 figs - I have photo in my album

CP1 - Color Party - Seaforths in Khakhi - Two carrying furled flags and three marching with rifles

Vignette set - Grouping of Seaforths which varied in composition. This set usually had Seaforths in various poses as well as supplies.

The K meant Seaforths in khakhi.

All the sets should have a certificate with them.

Louis Badolato can provide you with more info or you can buy the book that he wrote with Kevin Elliott on blurb.com about Glossy K&C:D

Hope this helps. All the best, Lawrence

Thanks Lawrence you are a mind of info I have the Flag bearers and a number of other Highlanders but the flag Bearers are carrying open flags not furled
Regards Norman

I have two mules carrying Red Cross Medical boxes and some Highlanders with Stretchers and wounded, two mules to a box are these all part of one set ?

The Highlanders with the open flags are from the later 1989 version of the set.

The two mules with a handler (identical to the stretcher bearers, but without the red cross on their sleeves) is one set.

The two stretcher bearers with a stretcher and the wounded highlander on the stretcher is a second set.

Thanks Louis I also have two Horses that perhaps go wth the RA1 and RA two Sets I have the two guns that Lawrence told me about and the Crew and the boxes plus certificates, but no gun limber is this correct.?
looking forward to seeing you in Chicago ,lets email on other matters soon including book review for glossy volume etc
you guys are the best

Norman,

If the Royal Artillery sets are the ones Lawrence was talking about, there should be no horses. The crews should be wearing pith helmets, with one or two standing officers holding binoculars or a map in one hand and pointing with the other, and the other ranks kneeling on one knee. One crew should be servicing a small field gun, the other a Maxim gun on a gun carriage.

If the Royal Artillery sets are instead wearing their formal dress uniforms, this may be a two box set of a Royal Artillery Gun Team, which should have a larger field gun being towed behind a limber, on which two seated men with their hands on their knees ride, the other three troopers should be riding on three of the 6 horses pulling the limber and gun, and the final figure should be an officer mounted on a 7th horse.

Describe the two extra horses for me, and I will tell you what they are. They could be mounted officers (there was a mounted Royal Artillery Officer wearing a pith helmet, which would be a separate one figure set), or perhaps they are not related to the Royal Artillery set at all.

Hi Louis again thanks for the help,it seems the RA are the former that you mention and in Blue Uniforms with pith helmets have Maxin Gun and another Artillery gun + the men you mention,I will try and get photos of everything over the next wewk or two and have my publishers send them to you via email pdf, still willing to give you as much FREE book review coverage in OTS for Glossy book, maybe email is better to discuss this ?,have the other book here to return to you
Regards Norman( PS also have amounted Scotoish Officer in Trews and am unsure if it is part of the Vignette set)
