:( Hello Guys! I know Andy likes to Jump-Around, and Not Completeing a Whole Sets! But, in the Past, he gave us GREAT Completion, and (ADD-ONS) Sets; For Instance: Why do we need Glider Infantry when there is No-Glider Airplanes? Also, he started to make the 1944-45 Wehrmacht, and hasn't come out, with Any Recently, (This Year), Great Infantry Sets-(8)- or More Combatant figure's, for DAK, EA, Italians, Wehrmacht, Etc, Yet? Also, TANK Rider's, WALKING Patrols( Recon), WOUNDED Personnel? Also, No-Mortar Teams,-- Panzerschreck Teams,-- Anti-Tank Gun Teams (PAK 38/40), 6-POUNDER Gun Teams,Lately? The British, could use Much More Infantry Figure's, and the Italians, and the DAK-Germans, also! Tank Crews are a MUST, Repair, and Supply! Repaint the Bren-Gun Carrier, and 'NEW' Crew in (Short Trousers ) Firing the Mounted MG,for EA! Please Concentrate on these GREAT Suggestions! British Beford/Lorry TroopTrucks? Time-is-of-Essence! Thankyou! CIAO!

John why is time of essence?with a bit of luck Andy will be making this stuff for years yet!.:) I don't think we got a glider yet because it would be massive:eek:

I am more than happy with the way sets are released,i'll take Andys experience and knowledge of whats popular anyday.

Rob:)

John my friend, your wish list is very long, as is mine, and it is apparent from your last post that you are losing your patience. Take a deep breath and keep on keep'n on. Good things come to those who wait, at least that's what I've been told when I get impatient. Some times I have to realize that there are other collections that people are interested in and that Andy must try to satisfy their desires also. And by the way, how does a series get closed out or completed? If any maker were to produce every vehicle or personnel it would take a very long time with a very large amount of releases to “finish” a series.:) :) :)

A good point Michael,John has a lot of good ideas and i'm sure over the years we will get many of them,it just takes time.Maybe in the next AK release he may get more Blackshirts.(really like the first set)

Rob

I think the staggered releases are a great idea, as it gives time to catch up with Andy before the next release of a series comes out. i know I've seen figures retired before I've had the chance to get them and I now try to take advantage of the lag time.

Dear John,

First of all, World War Two and its many, many “Theatres of Operations” will never, ever be “complete”. There will always be ways to improve...expand...develop new and exciting avenues to explore with this huge subject. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again...I could live three lifetimes and never do everything that both I and hordes of collectors (including you) want.

Secondly, K&C is running a business...that has to make a profit...that means we look at all available options and opportunities to see which would be the most popular...commercial...and we hope...successful.

That means making decisions and choices that don’t necessarily agree with one particular collector’s “needs...wants...and must haves.” It’s easy to compile “shopping lists” of what you want and what we should make and when we should make it. Usually you want it immediately if not yesterday but...failing that...tomorrow at the latest.

A successful business is not run on that basis and, as I’ve said many times before, we would be “out of business” in double quick time if we ran it as such.

Thirdly, it may have escaped your notice that we, believe it or not, also design and produce a wealth of other series and ranges that appeal to a wide spectrum of collectors other than World War Two. It’s our duty (and good business) to try to cater for as wide a range of collecting tastes as possible. If we were to subscribe to John’s lengthy “shopping lists” no other collector would ever get a “look-in” anytime. But, to go back to our WW2 buffs (and I am one myself) the vast majority of WW2 collectors do not have bottomless pockets and untold wealth that they can spend on their passion and hobby. Most of us need a little “breathing space” to get what we like and catch up, perhaps, with some previous release that we missed first time round. That’s why we stagger releases and try to give all collectors a variety of product throughout the year.

Fourthly, John, I really do appreciate your passion and many of your ideas and suggestions but, sit down...pour yourself a nice cold beer and think and reflect on what’s possible...what’s impossible...and, very occasionally, what’s just plain crazy.

Best wishes and...happy collecting!

Andy C

I must say for me the staggered releases are a Godsend. It allows me to catch up on stuff and also dabble in a bit of the new. There is no way a business like K&C can only concentrate on one area all the time, its an absurd idea. You have to diversify and try to appeal to a wide audience.Whilst John has some excellant suggestions i don't understand the 'time is of essence'?.Why??? Its not a race and hopefully there will be many more years of WW2 stuff to come.Just look at what we have coming in the months ahead. D-Day,Arnhem,Napoleonic,WW1,ACW its a fantastic range of quality and depth,to appeal to collectors worldwide. And i'm afraid no business can just pander to one persons endless appeals for produce.Sad but true.

Rob:)

Relax and calm down......It's a hobby. Enjoy it, but don't go overboard.

Well I believe that Collectors Show Case offer a bespoke design service so if you can't get what you want from K&C you could always commision a set / series and sell it under the Gamble label!:p

Folks,

The answer that Andy gave is similar to what he has given to John in the past. Let's face it John is not going to change and will just keep ask for this and that. Instead of responding to what he has to say, I would just ignore it. After all this is the subforum where he can suggest anything he likes.
