Here's the latest from K&C (we'll try to have the images on the web site ASAP):

“STREETS OF OLD HONGKONG”

Two more sets to add to your “Streets” collection…

HK147 The Photographer Set. Hidden under a black cape this Chinese photographer readies himself to capture the perfect image.

HK148 The Bride & Groom. A much requested item by “Streets” collectors and it goes perfectly with HK147’s Photographer. As was the social norm of the day the Bride stands while the Groom remains seated!

“A TIGER IS ON THE LOOSE AGAIN! (WS71)”

We made the decision to produce a new version of our King Tiger after our first “Berlin” type sold out.

This new King Tiger is in a striking two colour paint scheme adopted in the last six months of the European War.

The tank’s crew figures have also been repainted in different camouflage uniforms.

Just 500 of these 2nd version King Tigers have been produced.

3. FIELDS OF BATTLE FRESH PAINT

Another fighting vehicle which sold out its original run is our first-even French tank – the CHAR B 1bis (FOB009).

We are producing 250 additional models of this unique tank but in a modified paint scheme with a new ‘name’ and a revised tank commander.

new code number is FOB010.

Possible Release Date: March ‘06.

4. K&C NAPOLEONIC VARIATIONS

Here’s an interesting one for you…variations on a Napoleonic theme – Cavalry in this case.

As some of you know K&C like to experiment with lots of uniform and equipment variations to see what we and our customers like. Here is the perfect example of what we like to do:

KCS067 British General

KCS068 Chasseur à Cheval Young Guard

KCS069 Chasseur à Cheval (1)

KCS070 Chasseur à Cheval (2)

KCS071 Chasseur à Cheval on Campaign

KCS072 Chasseur à Cheval Officer in Dress Uniform

KCS073 Dragoon Elite Company

KCS074 Vistula Lancer

KCS075 4th Dragoons

KCS076 Chasseur à Cheval Guard

Although all of the above are not “Strictly Limited” releases we only produced a relatively small number of pieces of each figure.

This is a one-off order only.

Possible Release Date : May get some advance stocks from factory in January, balance in February ‘06.

Peter will all dealers get the new Napoleonic pieces? I want to be sure I get my hands on them.....how low in numbers will they really be...will there be enough to go around??

Cheers

Pete, when will the new King Tiger be available and when will photos be available?

I have images of the new sets (except for the French Tank) up on the web site (http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/new.shtml). We'll get an image of the French tank up once K&C gets it to us.

Wellington - I assume that all dealers would take advantage of these figures. There are limited quantities to each dealer.

Jazzeum - The monthly 'Dispatches' didn't mention a release date for WS71. I assume we'll hear very shortly.

I just pre order the FB010 and WS71 to my dealer.

Can't wait to see the new AK sets and the Celts too.

Also, there is no new retired sets this month. Yeah.

Does this mean that FOB009 (as well as the Berlin King Tiger) is now retired?

Hi Brad,

In a post dated 09/05/2005, Mr. Neilson was stating, in respect of the FOB serie, that K&C was to produce the sets in small quantities. So, I presume that as the FOB009 is sold out, they will not reissue it otherwise than in the form of the FOB010. You may guess that the FOB009 will be retired next month or in march. Remark that it is only my opinion.

My best regards,
Pierre.

Yes, it seems that since they are sold out, there should be an official statement from the man himself that they are retired. Unless he says it, they're not retired.;)

I too like the colour scheme of the new King Tiger. If this version had come with new figures it would have been an absolute must buy.

I bet i'll still end up buying it though. I have no willpower.

Got my Napoleonics ordered...I sure hope my dealer gets them..if not......

Anyone know why the Germans changed the paint scheme in the last six months of the war? Also, assuming this is the case, why is the "Berlin" tank in a different paint scheme than the upcoming KT?

WW2 German camo schemes were many and varied. Standardisation was not something the German military went in for. It's a decent viewpoint that if the Germans had standardized their equipment instead of constantly seeking wonder weapons they may well have fared better. Thankfully they didn't.

This new version of the King Tiger does seem a better all round paint job though. The camo scheme is an appropriate one for late war and ideal for urban fighting. Also the figures with the tank are wearing SS camo unlike the previous release.

Love the Tiger! The Napoleonic figs, are they not Del Prado repaints?

I hope they aren't, I just ordered them and I would find 65,00$ and 75,00$ US very expensive for toy soldiers instead of military figures. I started collecting K&C for their quality and I am absolutely allergic at the Del Prado (or Hachette) figures.

There have been many del prado figures already that have also been released as king and country And they are just as good casts as the king and country becuase they are the same casts. The paint job on the king and country is a little better But i think that if they were the same in every detail some of you guys would still rather have the K&C even if the price was 4 times the amount for the same figure even if it was a perfect clone. Myself i,d like to see new poses, becuase if there the same and i can get a del prado for a fraction of the price i know which one i,ll buy.

I have no problem with the fact that somebody who wants to buy Del Prado gets Del Prado. I'm against the fact that if I ordered a Cadillac, the dealer delivers me a Lada or a Trabant.

The CF05 figure is obviously a Del Prado figure (as the CF01 and CF04 looked like to be) and it is also obvious that the quality of the figure is below the quality of the CF06.

Anyway, we'll wait for the reply of Mr. Neilson on that point.

My best regards,
Pierre.

I agree I hope they are not Del Prado, Pierre where did you order yours from? Did you order them from Mait Land, how many sets did he have left after you ordered? I ordered mine early this A.M. and was told I was the first to order. The quality looks good and if they are marked K&C, I'd rather spend a little extra on these than the same on Del Prado.....

Cheers

Just had a real good look and some of them are similar versions of Del Prado. I like getting a few different ones but I hope we will continue with being able to buy whole regiments and not alot of individuals characters...these are good for fillers but not for building any type of army or dioramas.
