I recently ordered 4 WW2 sets from K & C, just thought i would let my fellow collectors in the UK know it worked great. I know a few who do not really like ordering from HK.
Ordered August 2nd 2022
Arrived August 9th 2022
THAT IS SEVEN DAYS from HK to UK, excellent.
Was not hit for Customs, may have had something to do with the value, £228, which may have been small enough not to draw attention.

EA127 - great threesome in defense mode
DD173 - an older DD Brit which was missing in my collection.
DD342 [G] - Bren Gunner, have 6 of the Normandy version sets, like them alot and will be continuing to build my collection.
BBA098 - BotB bazooka set - these are outstanding.

Big thanks to Kirsty, great service and communications through the process.

I’m sure the service is great as K & C has always prided itself on great customer service but I think it’s important to support the dealers as dealers are the lifeblood of any hobby, not only this hobby.

I would certainly agree, K&C do an excellent job shipping to the U.K.

Very unfortunately we don’t have the dealer infrastructure you have in Australia and elsewhere. Of the three, one has only a very limited selection, another charges a mark-up well beyond the additional 20% we need to pay in the UK for VAT (a USD179 set sold by K&C is sold by this dealer for GBP215 on EBay for example) while the third, who prices much more fairly (the same USD179 set referred to above is sold for GBP179) often takes a while to get stock in, presumably based on back orders.

It is a shame that it’s so economically tough to have dealerships here, but buying direct from K&C does offer a really good alternative

Thank you for the explanation. I’m actually in the US where we are fortunate in having many great dealers.

You certainly do - while I order direct from K&C, TG and JG miniatures, for certain other manufacturers, it largely works out cheaper to buy from US Dealers than locally or from Europe and China they are always efficient despite customs hassles at the U.K. end.
