Hi all,

This is not really a complaint but rather an observation based on a few of K&C's newer WWII Germans.

Have any of you noticed a dryer/more matte finish on any of their figures? In comparing some of their newer grey Wehrmacht with those from 1-2 years ago, it seems that the paint is more flat/matte in quality (less smooth as well).

Wondering if any of you K&C collectors have noticed?

WO, I think that it just depends on the set in question. The flattest finish that I see in my limited KC collection is on these two figures:

In examining my other EA sets, the newer issues appear smoother and have somewhat less of a matte-finish. If you examine the Honey tank commander figure that I posted pics of recently, you'll notice that the piece is smooth and perhaps even a bit shiny.

I find the same kind of pattern in the RAF range. For example, RAF011 is a little rougher and has more of a matte-finish than more recent releases that I own. I can't address the entire range, because I don't own them all.:redface2:

I don't doubt for a moment that your Wehrmacht figures are exactly as you describe. Rather, I think that this is just another situation where generalizations can lead a collector to adopt some false assumptions. It's probably more worthwhile and useful to consider sets on case-by-case basis.:)

Maybe the factory forgot to spray the clear protective lacquer perhaps for some batches ? :confused:

If so then is a QC issue....

Think posting some photos would help but after looking at my figures today could see no real difference but just the price !

is this true?

K&C figures are coated in a clear protective lacquer?

Yes, it seems to be so from what I see in my K&C figures {sm4}

Only the vechicles and tanks however does not seem to be coated in a clear protective lacquer though ^&confuse

I have never noticed a clear finish on any of my figures...
