Those vehicle are just prototypes that Andy had in his room in Chicago but he told me that he didn't think he would making the Austin. It was just a prototype.

Hans owns that Austin prototype, and I have the same vehicle in RAF markings. They will both be on display at the symposium, as will prototypes of a Bedford QL Radio Command Vehicle and a Bedford Troop transport Lorry.

I would still like to see some kind of three tonner - was it too difficult to mass produce?

A good Ford for example would have been used by all the factions if a Bedford was not considered OK. Part of the Desert war was referred to as the war of the thrree tonners as without resupply at night there was no battle the next day and everyone captured everyone elses vehicles.

Would also work for every period of the war and every theatre.

Don't ask me why Andy didn't want to put the Bedford troop transport lorry into production. He made three different versions of the prototype, an 8th Army version (mine), a late war "Minny Mouse" camo (Larry's) and a Dunkirk version (Hans') and they are all great. I think they would have sold well, what with everybody on the forum clamoring for them, but what do I know?
