It is a rainy day here in Midcoast Maine so time for some fun.
I am finally .. {sm4} .. getting my Toy Soldier rooms in shape and figured it was time to try to remember how to post some photos.

And there is no better way to start then with the new King and Country USMC series ...{sm3}

While I wait for some diorama material to arrive I took some of these up close shots of the USMC figures ... just having fun

Really great looking figures. Good detail and the equipment looks good. Quite liked the Russ book on Tarawa but haven't read the other 2 pictured. Would also recommend the Hammel book, '36 Hours', and the classic book by Shaw. -- Al

Nice shots Larry. Look forward to seeing your Tarawa diorama as and when you have time to work on it. Hopefully this weekend I'll get some time to work on some more trees and Sea wall. Also hopefully we'll see some more Marines come November !

For me at this moment are the Marines the best WWII figures of this year. Thanks for sharing. I hope for more Marines and Japs next week

G'day Harrie & Larry,
Many thanks for your great support and enthusiasm for this new series...The response from collectors like yourselves and many others around the world has been fantastic!

And I also agree that these 'fighting Leathernecks' are probably some of the best 'all-action' figures K&C has ever produced...Wait till you see some of what will be appearing in the coming months.

Yesterday, at a 'Release Planning Meeting' at HQ in Hong Kong we decided that the USMC would enjoy a very regular release schedule throughout the year with several figures (3, 4 or even 5) coming out in one or two monthly batches at a time....beginning this November.

Hope this info helps collectors plan going forward...Best wishes and happy collecting!
And, of course, 'Semper Fi!'
Andy.

Hi Larry,

Great job on the Marine photos, nice clear, crisp shots. You have made me want these even more now !

Wayne,
New room, new lighting and new camera so I am still getting a handle on this, but THANK YOU for the words.

What a wonderful way to end the day .... with the knowledge of NEW USMC sets being plan for a good while. {sm4} {sm4}

THANK YOU Andy and all of the K&C folks for these superlative new sets honoring the United States Marine Corp!

Great thread Larry.....here are a few close up pics I took in Chicago of the flamethrower set that I bought for a good mate.

Hi Larry and Sam,

Wonderful images. While I have the whole set, I really enjoy seeing the close-up images. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Sammy ... nice one!

I'll be at the Hackensack show this weekend, with George (Minutemen) to pick up a "SECOND ROUND" of the USMC sets .... can't have to many. Really looking forward to see the creative genius of Andy and Company for the next round of Marines ... and of course the Japanese.

NOTE: To all K&C USMC collectors ... post your USMC sets!

Very nice pic...i'm waiting for the flamethrower figure! And then i plan tou buy the throwing grenade and the 2 thompsons and radioman figures...the throwing grenade figure is really nice! Very plastic and realistic pose, it reminds me of the beautiful plastic figures i played with when i was a toddler. Hope Andy will do some figures with helmet w.out covers..Just yesterday i rewatched the beautiful "Halls of Montezuma", very realistic (as always with the Lewis Milestone's movies) and great drama and actors. I love the character played by Jack Palance!

Just watched it again the other day, too. Pretty Boy and his Luger...Doc with his pipe...what a fantastic cast this show has, a virtual who's who of Hollywood. Great show. -- Al

Sorry my friend...I like those USMC 'camo helmet covers'...That's one of the iconic Marine symbols!!!
Take away those covers ...and you might be mistaken for U.S. Army soldiers for cryin' out loud...
Good movie though...Enjoy and all the best, Andy.

Glad to hear the Camo covers are here for the duration .... as you mentioned that is a distinctive marking for the USMC.

But some time down the line maybe the soft hat might be an interesting addition for Marines at rest ...^&confuse
