Joe Baker.......aka playsetaddict, posted this figure (K&C BR051) last week. I know it's been around for a while...........but it was new to me.

I feel in love with him.

He looks fierce in his captured British jacket, mounted on his steed with the British flag as a saddle, carrying 4 captured rifles, several canteens, backpacks and satchels.

BR051...........Mounted Indian with booty. Not cheap.....but weighs in at 15 ounces!!!!

I just got him today along with BR044, the kneeling Indian in the captured British jacket.

Both great looking figures.......kudos to K&C.

I put him with a JJ's WIM05 and they look really good together.

As intended to be a comparison to Jenkins.......I put this post in the John Jenkin's Design's threads.

They fit very well together.I have only one KC indian,BR053,picking up a rifle. These figures are hard to come by but I see a few out there and am going to pick up a few..For some reason the mounted indian doesn't appeal to me and I don't know why.I like BR052 but would like him to have a red coat.I also like BR047 scalping set but there too I wish the soldier had a red coat on.Conte's indians are very good.I had some but got rid of them but am going to try to get a few of these back too. Can't make up my mind can I.

Ooooooooooooh......

I forgot to mention.

The BR044 got a good coat of Krylon mattee spray before the photo.

His head and hands were extremely glossy.

Mark........you're right........they are hard to come by.

They are actually hard to find (the photos), especially the retired.

Do you have a definitive "inventory and picture" source with retail prices you can send?

I also like that BR053 set and may get it......if I can find it. I think Matt had some on his site. I may have ordered it, lol, I swear I can't remember.

Excellent job with the close up photos in your photo dioramas Michael they turn out to be of your close up to date....Joe

Mike,
Bill Sager has the KC on his website and Conte has their indians on their website.I saw that mounted indian last night on ebay,$114 is the starting price!BR053 is on there too and it's not cheap either.

BR044 is supposed to be shiny in those places. Indians often oiled their bodies to make themselves more slippery in close action fighting. I can't remember where but there was a thread about such oiling. Konrad (kogu) had these figures and perhaps he can verify. Better get the glosscoat out:D
There was another thread about Indians painting their bodies black as seen in one of the other figures.

They look good together Michael. Never thought of getting these, but I may have to now.

Randy............

I believe you are right about oiling their bodies for fighting.

The dealer I bought them from said the same thing (oiled bodies) when I questioned their glossy skin before I bought them.

I like the matte finish I gave BRO44...he matches my Jenkins better now.

Curiously enough...K&C did not gloss the skin on sets BR051, 52, 53 and 58's skin though, but did glossy skin on BR42, 43, 44, 45, 46, and 47.

Actually Mike The 69.95 is pounds which equals $115 here when you can still get it at dealers at $69 American money.

Yea........that's what I mean........I just don't understand some of the prices on Ebay.

There is quite a few collectors out there who doesn't check the retail price of items. They see something the like they buy it.A lot are marginal collectors and don't get deep into the hobby like we do.:):)

Mike

Thanks for the great idea !
