Just got mt WW1 1917 Brits and tank! Great stuff!
I would guess the Germans will be out in May, can't wait for those.
Now if the French and Americans are not far behind I will be a happy camper.
Hope this late WW1 stuff is a big seller as the possibilities are endless.
I could get like JG on request with WW1.
Gary

I'm hoping that the late war stuff will be at the London Show on Saturday. Personally, I love early war 'Guns of August' BEF 1914 etc, again, the possibilities are endless with the red trousered French, khaki BEF (I think the K&C KOSBies are super) Indians etc ..... so much to ask for, so much to collect, so much on the plastic!!!

i've read (i don't remember if on the 1917 leaflets or on the last Collector) K&C has already produced the French..now we 'll see if they are 1914 or the Blue Horizon ones,i'd prefer the 1914 ones..by the way i think they'll be wonderful..

I agree based on the present showing the WW1 range is going to be a real crowd pleaser, if you're in to the period of course. I can't help thinking a Belgian Army dog cart machine gun limber would look nice in my display cabinet. There is a lot of scope here even encompassing the Balkan wars.

Yes the WW1 lends itself to be view as a clash of 2 ages ..the first is the Victorian Period (modified a bit from the Boer War experience)way of doing war , and that ends in 1914..the second is the war of materials, the human factor less important, the inhuman practice of using gas and the return to medieval weapons like spiked maces and similar .. these two aspects can be (and in my opinion Andy did just this)portrayed, the 1914 and 1917 are 2 periods that are very different and could and should be really produce some of the best figures of this hobby for their variety of fronts (the Belgian with their strange uniforms, but the italian too..Hemingway wrote of this front)and the attention that captures this war.

My hope is we get some great TRENCH WARFARE diorama pieces from King & Country !

The new figures look great in the brochures - I haven't seen them up close in person. The new Brits are certainly on my list !

I too am collecting the WW1 pieces. Hoping for some early war French, wouldn't mind seeing some Austrians and Italians some day. Even the Turks would be nice.

Can't wait to see soldiers wearing gas masks!:)

Received the new MkIV and 6 of the new Brits yesterday. They are very good, particularly the standing firing one. Well worth getting, these will sell like hot cakes in London.

How about a Whippet?

Andy

All the WWI stuff is great. I would love a damaged tank to go with my WWI trench diorama!

The Austro - Italian front could be great but if the Italian mantained the same uniform from the start of the war (we entered in war in 1915) the Austrian started with an uniform of bluish hue (they called pike grey) and had on the collar the beautiful coloured patches of the Austro Hungarian regiments, and preserved the difference between "German" and "Hungarian" regiments..then they too adopted a grey green uniform , and the patches were reduced to a thin line on the collar..there's a lot to do!!!:)

Counselor Panzer ACE:

I will need a detailed brief outlining the proposed WW I vehicle as well as provenance for the "trench diorama" due to the ambiguous use of the word "my".:) I sentence you to moot court with the "Death Star" & a purchase agreement for the Figarti Rail Gun!

hahahahahahahaha! Luckily Kathy does not read this forum (neimanmarcus.com is more her speed) LOL, 'My' WWI diorama is in protective custody pending a trip to Cartier tomorrow. The rail gun would only require a trip to Tiffany’s.

Further briefing to follow.

Does this mean you are taking the plunge to collect WWI.:confused::confused:

I have the KOSB Sergeant and the new officer with cane (other Brits are the KOSB subaltern pointing and French)but i'll buy the same as yours(btw all the new brits are great)!Very good choice!

It's going to be a real pain deciding whether to start collecting early or late war first??? I understand late Germans are next to arrive, anybody know whats happening after that??
