Carlos,

Maybe you were the only one with a camera that saw them. Nice. I assume you have to buy a certain amount to get them.

Carlos:

Thanks, those are the photos I was hoping to see!:)

Is the cavalry guy Henry Fonda from Ft.Apache?
Mark

Very cool pictures....Might have start collecting old West pieces...

John,

I'm glad somebody posted these for you.

They are both nice, but I really like the Ranger.

They have such a mystique in Texas lore.

My Dad used to tell me stories about the Rangers raiding the Balinese Room, a famous nightclub in Galveston in the 1940's that he was a busboy at.

My father told me that always, only one Ranger would come in to raid the casino and they were no nonsense.

He said the Ranger would usually slap the biggest guy he could find in the establishment, in order to establish dominance, respect and attention.

I remember one story where the Ranger came in and had everybody line up against the wall.

One customer, a real big guy, that was loud, cocky and was not cooperating with the Ranger, my dad said, took a comb out of his back pocket and started to comb his hair.

My dad said the Ranger walked over to him and knocked him out with a swat to the head with a blackjack.

I met an ex-Ranger once.

He came to investigate a robbery of a piece of equipment that was loaned (on contract) to the restuarant I owned.

The equipment was used to collect and hold discarded grease and the company employed the ex-Ranger.

He was all business, no joking around.

He put me in the mind of how I thought an FBI agent would act like.

He was in his late 50's, taller than me, (I'm 6'4"s tall), long, lean, straight and dressed like a stylish modern cowboy.

A sharp creased western cut suit, a tie and a lariot around his neck, snake skin boots and a huge belt buckle that had a "Texas Rangers" emblem on it.

He commanded your attention and was an imposing figure.

He really intimidated me, very businesslike, real professional and no-nonsense.

I was in awe talking to him and answering his question.

The old saying in Texas about how tough these guys were was,

"ONE RIOT..............ONE RANGER".

Really tough guys.

Mark, that is certainly what I think, especially considering the first two figures they offered last year!

Can't wait to pick up the two newest figures!

Mike:

Those are the figures I was looking for, and they look really terrific!

They are going to be a nice addition to anyone's collection. Interesting story

about the Texas Rangers.

That Ranger looks like Chuck Norris's grandfather.
Cool figures.

So, how do you get one. Join a club or buy a certain amount or what? Please advise.

Louis when you order items from KingsX in Texas they keep a running total of your purchases.....when you hit $480 you can select one of the figures which will be sent to you with your order.

I just spoke to them and they expect the two newest club figures to arrive sometime in July.

released this year mounted US Cavalry?. For example, John Wayne and Henry Fonda riding together at Fort Apache.:)

These look great, but only wish they were widely available. I am admittedly frustrated that this subject matter is so thinly covered by current manufacturers. I would readily purchase these 2 and the first 2 if they were available to the general public, so by my accounting, that is 4@$32 or $128 in unrealized sales for somebody. :(

I agree Dave. They are nice.I would love to get the Cavalry figures but I don't collect any of the KC ranges.I guess Kings X figures that if somebody wants them bad enough they will spend $480 on other items. It's a business decision to drum up more sales which is understandable if it works. For me I won't spend the $480 but others do.Would I have to spend $960 to be able to get all 4?

Mark, I believe the correct figure would be $1920 for all 4.

But, rather than derailing this thread, I think I will start a new discussion in one of the general discussion areas down below.

I thought you had to spend $480 to be able to buy the first 2 not $480 for each one.GOOD GOD.
Mark

So, after you spend $480.00 at King X, you get to choose one figure and pay what for it? Or do you get it for free? Please advise. THank you.

Figure is free once you reach that total. With the price of items it adds up fairly quickly if you collect several of the ranges. If you like the figures which I do its just a bonus for buying items you would normally.

They keep a running total of your purchases so its not like you have to spend it all at once.:)

They are nicely done figures!

Wow, that Ranger is one heckuva figure! The pose, the painting, it's all there. The cavalry figure is very nice, too. Yes, very much like Henry Fonda's Col. Owen Thursday from "Fort Apache". The officer is good but that Texas Ranger is GREAT!
