With the announcement by K & C of a forthcoming Vietnam range, following hard on the heels of the Six-Day War it seems as if K & C are more than dipping a toe in the post WWII period. While I am sure that British K & C collectors have and will enjoy these two new ranges - what a about a range more squarely centred on a British post-war operation? The obvious one is the Falklands, 1982. Wide range of troop types and uniforms. Paras, Marines, Ghurkas, Guards. Even some armour - Scorpion/Scimitar light tanks. The Argentines as well. I'm sure Andy, as an ex-Royal Marine, would do such a range proud.

I always thought the British in Aden would be a good range 'Mad Mitch' and the Argylls.

If you Google Mad Mitch in images you get lots of Mitch McConnell the US politician with an array of facial expressions.

I think it would make a great range as well, but it might have limited appeal to collectors outside of the UK and Argentina.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Graycap :salute:: - but not much chance of this happening I would suspect :(

Most TS manufacturers seem to aiming their product squarely at U.S./ANZAC based collectors? (just going by "big theme" releases lately) Lucrative markets after all............ $$$$$$

I suspect G.B. is seen as a bit of a TS backwater.................. No offence or malice intended - just as I see it :)

If a Falklands range is unlikely, maybe at least one day there might be a single figure release—a yomping bootneck, maybe? Something like the iconic photo of the marine with the union flag?

Thanks for the support chaps. All me can do is live in hope! - you never know.

Hi Guys,
Many thanks for the additional suggestions and ideas...It's worth remembering that K&C and yours truly have a wealth of work in different stages of development for release not just in the next couple of months but for many months in advance stretching well into 2019.

We've only just announced the 'Vietnam/Battle of Hue'/TET' ... to let you guys know what will be on show at The Texas Show in May.

As for 'British Post WW2 Conflicts'...There's plenty to choose from... and being a former Royal Marine I have more than a personal interest in several of them.

But please bear in mind you can't just make toy soldiers/military miniatures instantly at the flick of a switch...It takes many months of study, research, development and bloody hard work to bring a new series or range to market...And even then no one is going to guarantee you success!

So, having said all of that consider this...K&C has a long consistent record of 'Thinking Outside of The Box' that goes back many years and continues right up to the present day...And not just 'thinking' either... but actually 'delivering' on what we promise a lot more times than most.

By all means, let's go on together looking into, discussing and proposing 'Post War British Conflicts'... Some of them might well coincide with K&C's own plans and strategies!
All the best Guys and happy collecting,
Andy.

Andy - thanks for taking the time to provide a very helpful reply. I realise in your business projects take time to plan, research, develop and produce. I don't know if this time last year if many few collectors would have expected to see WWII Poles, 1967 Arab-Israeli War, and Tet '68. But here they are! So looking forward to what ever emerges in the coming months.

For your appreciation and understanding.

Hi Andy...i thank you for the reply..and thank you for always surprising us with the less beaten paths you take . I am one of those in favour of a a Falklands/Malvinas range. But there are pro & cons...the pro is that basically to make the Argentines "all you have to do" (i know and understand that is not so simple) is use some of the sculpt for the IDF , obviously adding parkas...i believe the argentines used many items of IDF origin, the recently released GPMG gunner could pass easily for an argentine, with a darker hue of green and a parka. The argentines could be priced about as the IDF and USMC range (and i presume the Tet Marines?). The con are that portraying the RM , the Paras, and Ghurkas you have to detach from the policy of cheap price you've taken lately for IDF and USMC. The british camo is very elaborate...But i think that many will buy this range..:) Maybe for the 2022? Hope before that date.

I would be all over some Falkland stuff too. Wish there were more sas sbs guys to collect.
