Anyone got any idea when the new building SP14 are going to be released?
I read Andy is having problems with the packaging. It looks like a terrific display piece.
Did King and Country make the unpainted Normandy Village? Or was it produced for them by another manufacter?
Njja

Hi Njja, I can answer your question about the new Berlin buildings. They are scheduled to be shipped to the US at the end of this month by boat to three main King & Country dealer distributors who will then ship them by freight to all other dealers who order them. The buildings are expected to arrive around the end of June and be available to dealers and customers alike end of June/early July.

The unpainted gray Normandy Village was made for King & Country by Foamtech, a company that produces a lot of items for the Hobby Bunker. I have seen many similar pieces made for George Guerrero, but I am not sure if they are also made by Foamtech. I hope this answers your other question.

The best hard foam buildings, especially for WW2, were done for Contes plastic playsets.
I believe George at Minuteman Toys has some to be sold seperately.
For any of you not familier with this line, he did several German DDay bunkers, farm house set, bridge, 2 ruined town buildings ,hedgerows, and best of all the Norman church and priory.
They were all pre painted.
The other form tech stuff is nice but is not painted, so if you are like me, not a modeler, I have to get someone else to do the painting.
Gary

George is the go to guy in this department. He has done some displays for me and they turned out great. He can come up with some good ideas.

Bill

George told me a couple of weeks ago that he was working on a diorama involving the Berlin buildings Andy was putting out. Sounds like it will be something special.

George had an amazing Church with parachute hanging from the steeple a la St. Marie Eglaise with him at the King of Prussia show. He is really doing an excellent job supplementing the dioramas available to K&C collectors. I look forward to seeing what he does for Berlin.

Louis, I,m sure that was the Conte Norman Church, that came with a resin figure of an airborne trooper hanging from the steeple.
I have it,
Gary

Dear Gary,

It may very well have been, I didn't check to see who made it. It was, as I noted, a very impressive piece that would display very well with any WWII figures, but loked particularly good with K&C stuff around it.

Regards,

Louis

I don't think it was Conte. I don't think it had a figure although it did have the parachute hanging from it. It looked like just the church looks today; we saw it last year.

I know Conte made a church with a parachutist hanging from it. Whether it's this one or not I could not tell you. The Conte buildings are great for dioramas. I wish they would sell them by themselves.

Bill

I have seen the Conte church building with the para, it is really nice. I must agree tha the Conte pieces are nice, but also wish they could be bought separate from the playsets.

I asked George about that building and it is indeed Conte and here's what he wrote back. I'm not trying to drum up business for him (although he's a real good guy  ) so if anybody takes offense, my apologies and I'll edit if necessary.

***

"Regarding the church, it is indeed a Conte church. Not only do I have the church, but I now have the courtyard and priory building that goes next to it. Conte did several D-Day themed playsets afew years ago. One had a couple of ruined buildings (which I now also have available and will have at the show), one had a couple of pillboxes, one had a farm complex (which I have), one had several hedgerow sections (which I have), one had the church and one had the priory with courtyard, both of which I now have.

The church with the priory and courtyard is 500.00."

This is a really great and historically important set. I typically do not collect KC, but plan to buy it all. This might also be an opportunity to spice up some of the German/axis sets and distinguish the series from the 1944 Normandy Germans. Some of the last defenders in Berlin were non-German troops from throughout Europe including the French SS Division "Charlemagne". Would be great to see some of those figures produced.
