Anyone else having problems with the Collectors Club???
I am very confused, I am not receiving issues of Collectors Quarterly, and pamplets with any regularity. I just re-newed for 2 more years and seem to be in limbo. I have been trying to obtain club figures for last 3 months with no success.
I am a big King & Country Fan but I'm very suprised at this level of service for Club Members.
Any feedback would certainly be appreciated.

I too have not received brochures/pamphlets via the club on a regular basis. Yesterday however, I received the Autumn 2005 (issue 11) issue of Collector Magazine and two 8x11 pamphlet brochures titled "Vive La France!" and "Overlord." As for the club figures, I received them about two weeks after I renewed my membership for another two years. Good luck!

Hi David thanks for your input. I joined because I wanted the issues of Collectors Magazine and was dissapointed when they did not show up. I also received the latest issue today with the brochures you mentioned but alas my club figures have not arrived.
How are they? The photos of them were very nice, are they better in person?
Thanks

I haven't joined but this doesn't bode well. Perhaps Andy will address.

I also renewed I believe last May,for 2 years and got my figures rather quickly.
My disappointment is that I get the brochures from my dealer when I receive my orders faster than from K&C.
NJJA, when I joined for the first year my figures never showed up, and after a month I contacted K&C and they sent another set.
Give them an email, I,m sure they will do you right.

The UK Collectors' Club is quite good. Although they don't offer the 4 figures in question, they do not charge an annual fee. (They used to offer figures. However, this was seen by many as in effect the purchase of a figure not of one's own choosing). Instead the UK Club now awards a voucher at the end of the year based upon the amount spent during the preceding year. The big downside to the UK club is the price, but for non-EU collectors there is no VAT and that should make it a worthwhile exercise, or at least an additional possibility.

I'm not in any way being disparaging to the International K&C Collectors' club but I'm actually relieved not to have joined. (On Eric's forum there were one or two other grumblings about various delays in the issuing of brochures or figures by K&C but I think Rachel in the Collectors' Club put down one or two reassuring messages there).

I'd say that the focus has probably been on the production of sets, and the reliance upon the dealer network to use the various despatches to explain or promote the products, and perhaps the Collectors' Club needs to be re-oriented a little: many dealers now have online photographs from the despatches up on their websites almost immediately and thus long before the editions of The Collector are available to Club members. Andy can't wave a magic wand on that, nor can he simultaneously inform dealers and collectors: there's always going to be some lapse of time between the two despite the best of intentions.

However, it would appear that from the various posts on different websites there is an issue regarding the manner in which the collectors' figures become available. I'd be interested to hear more about the subject.

I've been trying to secure the latest club figures since 4/29/05. I have copies of a dozen emails I have exchanged with them. Just so folks don't think I havent made an effort. I hoped by adding this link Andy might see it and fix this problem. I really like King & Country and I thought before I posted this.
However I think Andy needs to know when there is a problem so he can fix it.
Several other folks have e-mailed me because they didn't want to make trouble, so unfortunatly I'm not the only fellow having a problem. :(

Botta-boom,botta bing.I'm with you on this stand Njja.I received my fig's like others(not you though) shortly after signing up for two years but alas have failed to get any new brochures or "the Collector" since.I get emails from Pearl showing all the new brochures but they are not showing up at the doorstep.I was hoping that the club might take off in some kind of good direction but I'm having second thoughts on the real benefit of joining. :(

Reply from Andy re: King & Country Collectors Clubbed

Andy has asked me to post the following:

Dear Njja, Davidrcpo and others,

Re: Our Collectors Club – I take very seriously any and every problem or hiccup we have with any aspect of K&C’s operations.

Perhaps I should state that when new brochures come out we send those to members with their “Collector” issues. I realize that some K&C collectors can see these prior to that time if their favourite dealer gets the relevant brochures first.

On the issue of Collector’s Club figures and when they are available Pearl of our Collectors Club contacted Njja explaining the situation and when he would be able to get them back in July.

Also you will see that if for any reason, figures have failed to turn up we have sent replacements as soon as we could.

Finally, just to reiterate we issue “Collector” 4 times a year. That’s when we send Club members their own “latest” K&C flyers and full colour brochures along with their “Collector”. We do not send flyers and brochures separately.

Anyway I believe in the Club and its figures, 4 x “Collector” a year plus all the new brochures is great value at just $38 a year. Fortunately hundreds of others do too.

However I do apologize whenever there any problems or complaints here at K&C we always try to do our best.

To Jazzeum:

Thanks for posting Andy's response.

To Andy:

No offense intended, you are mis-informed. Figures ordered on 4/29/05 an explaination in June/July is 2 months later. Its now 4 months later.

Love your products........this is only problem.

Thanks for the reply via Jazz Andy.I guess I'm always anxious in getting mail from Hong Kong because K&C is the only company sending me anything. I will have more patience and await the next issue of the Collector.

Issue 11 is out and I will post on my website today. I have been out of power from Katrina and just got back up today.

Follow up note:

Figures arrived today! They are quite nice, and well worth joining Club for.
Who knows what happenes once things are dropped in the mail?
Its still amazing something ever arrives in one piece from the other side of the world!
Andy's sturdy little boxes & foam inserts did the trick once again.

Thank You,
Andy & Pearl

I and my brother (me UK bro New Zealand) are members of the K&C UK collectors club. Costs nothing to join and you get a card with number etc and regular collectors leaflets and a newsletter from the K&C UK guys. Bob has made the information very informative and now there is information on all the shows that they organise.

There are no figures but i understand ( as also stated by Cannonfodder) that this was due to feedback from members that they would like to chosse a figure for their own collection. For example what good is a D-Day collectors figure if you collect Napolionic!? I got a £10 voucher which i used at teh London show in June and it is not against a spend the vouchers are direct payments. So you dont have to spend again to get the money off.

You as a member get to here of any goings on with conferenceses etc i for one am bugging Bob Neville for a ticket to the show in December. By the sounds of it is also going to be the biggest toy Soldier fair in the world! yes the Neville family (K&C UK) are looking to become the biggest and making the home of the biggest toysoldier show in the home of the toy soldier, London UK. They are also talking about having 12 tables on display of K&C product!! OMG well worth the day alone to see all the new stuff. Andy is going to be there i cannot wait to see him.

Any how getting to excited about the whole thing and loosing my track.

Agree with Cannonfodder KandC UK well worth droping them a line join for free get some excellent KandC products and some money back at the end of the year. The website automatically takes the Tax off for you lucky non UK residents. Speak to Mike or Bob direct and see if they can do a deal!

www.kingandcountry.co.uk havea look :)

I don't think joining the UK Club makes sense for US based collectors. 10 pounds is only $18. That won't even take care of the shipping. Also, because of the exchange rate, buying a K & C item in the UK just isn't logical. It might make sense for Joe but not for American based collectors, I'm afraid.
