This is listed on Ebay

"King & Country LN06 D-Day Landing Craft DD12 in Box
Fits two King and Country tanks Item number: Ebay # 6011552247"

Did Andy ever make a LN06 and release it with stock # DD12.
It does not look like the DD12 I know. "LVCP US landing craft"

I argee with Steven, I think this is one of the very nice, but not true King & Country, models sold by King & Country, UK.

Louis

This is the sellers reply to my ? about being a real K&C item.
Hi,
The item is made by King and Country UK, with permission from Andy in Hong
Kong. So I do not see a problem. The item is made for and by King and
Country

Is this correct?

Chuck,
Contrary to what your seller suggests, they're not actually made by King & Country UK. It's actually a Welsh company that make them to K&C's 1/30th scale. Bill Neville posts regularly on the Forum and could probably spell out the exact relationship. I think it's a bit like that Collector's Showcase series of busts: they were not King & Country.

I bought one from K&C UK, LCA3 MK3 Landing Craft. A very beautiful piece. Made of balsa and cardboard. The scale is a perfect match for standard K&C items. The ramp is on a permanent open position.

Chuck,

I sent the seller a message, advising them of it's true nature (what CannonFodder posted here), with a link to the site, and strongly suggesting that he mention this to the bidders. My inclination is to report him to ebay if he doesn't make the change.

I sent him this message when after I made a bid and it dawn on me that this was not a DD12. I ask to him witndraw my bid.
I got a reply that was untrue. Sort of a so what.

I did advise the high bider.

If that's the case, you should notify ebay. It's one thing to be unaware of a set of facts but then not to act on it when you know is tantamount to fraud.

Hi Guys,

Re some of the confusion surrounding this Landing Craft.

1) This is not an official K&C designed and produced item.

2) King & Country U.K. discovered a guy in Wales, U.K. who manufactured 1:30 scale landing craft suitable for transporting K&C troops and fighting vehicles.

3) The guy supplies K&C U.K. with these items which they sell at their shows and through mail order.

4) Actually, I have 3 different versions of these Landing Craft in the King & Country Collection in Head Office in Hong Kong and they’re pretty darn good!

5) However for anyone selling any of these items on ebay or elsewhere it would be more appropriate to describe them as “Landing Craft Models compatible in scale with King & Country soldiers and fighting vehicles.”

Hope all this helps. Best wishes and…happy collecting!

Hi Guys

As one of the Neville clan (King & Country UK) i would like to thank all those that have got the facts correct.

We do sell these landing craft on our website as they compliment very well the K&C WWII range. This is from a UK Welsh modler who made contact with us.

As Andy has said they are a very nice peice and i have three on display with a D-Day beach scene.

For those who i met in Chicago hi and great seeing you.

On a Secondary note the Toy Soldier Show London December 3rd has now doubled in size with 220 tables and 94 different traders.

There is also still tickets available for the King & Country Global Collectors Convention on the evening of the 3rd in the Imperial War Museum.

We already have a world wide attendance to the event making it truly a GLOBAL event.

Contact K&C UK bob@kingandcountry.co.uk for further details

Received the following from the seller:

"They are in King and Country Boxes, when I was at the toy show in London I was told they had no problem with these being identified as King and Country. Andy did not have the time to manufacturer himself but was happy to put the king and Country name to these."

This could be a simple misunderstanding.

I have spoken to all the Neville clan Mike, Bob and even Sue (mum) basically the entire K&C UK team apart from the cat!!!

The landing craft that we sell go out in a plain light grey box with no K&C logo or insignia.

Below is what is stated above on both the mailorder price list and on our website:-

"Thousands of allied troops were landed on the beaches of occupied France and the Pacific by these unique craft.

All the landing craft are hand made ( In South Wales) from balsa wood and card to the scale 1 : 30, suitable for all King & Country figures and vehicles."

This is also what is stated above all accesory items we sell i e JG and bricks and rubble.

As i think you said in one of the threads e-bay should be made aware of this guy!

Tony

Brad

What i find amazing about e-bay and some buyers is they do not check out the facts.

It is cheaper to buy them from us than from this guy on e-bay!!!! mind you whats money!!

And as for that cat brad she is outttttaaaaaa of here!!!!

Re: King & Country LN06??

The seller revised his item description to state: "Item is packed in box labelled King and Country UK." However, what is most misleading is the seller's continued use of "DD12" in the item title. Bidders may think it is an actual, retired K&C DD12 that usually sells for over $300 on eBay. However, the current high bidder bids on most retired K&C auctions and should be aware that it is not a DD12 -- he may want the landing craft even if it is not the retired piece. In the end, it's "buyers beware!":)

I noticed the slight change. Ebay is generally a buyer's beware game and generally only savvy buyers are bidding that much for this landing craft, at least let's hope so.

Brad steven

I have had a lot of items from K&C UK and they tend to put their own shop/site details on the boxs with their own labels.

thats were i think this guy is getting confused. Mind at least he has changed some! I also noticed Steven that he does say tanks not included.

really is buyers beware. Funny though i bought a landing craft from K&C UK for a lot less than it is on e-bay. !!

I spoke with Bob and Tony Neville the other day and they say that they are working very hard on a new K&C UK website so may be worth a look. Not up yet but Bob Neville reckons next few days!!

I'm surprised they're working on a new one since I think it's a really excellent site. I especially like the book references they have for particular lines, especially 8th Army. I have picked up a couple of those suggestions. One suggestion I would have is perhaps an area on retired items they have for sale, if any, both in Pounds/Euros and perhaps a different price for US buyers. For instance the British Sherman will be on price for British buyers but a different price for US buyers.

The K&C UK outer packaging will undoubtedly contain a K&C UK label, but if they were selling JG miniature accessories or anything else for that matter you'd still receive the parcel with that outer packaging. The box in which the item itself is contained would not have any K&C reference whatsoever.Regards,
Joe
PS: the K&C UK King & Country items have their K&C UK labels, with the 'founded 1994' instead of 'founded 1897' on the labels. In that regard it's often interesting to track the provenance of various K&C sets on eBay. However, as stated above this would have no bearing of the matter of a plain grey box arriving in a larger parcel which had a 'King & Countyr UK 10 years' label on it. The use of the reference DD12 is abhorrent.
