Did any of King & Country's M18 Hellcats belong to a real unit? If so, what are those units?

Sure did! The light panel with the tactical numbers shows that it belongs to the 701st Tank Destroyer Battalion, they were the only outfit to use this marking. The 701st served in Italy (not in France) or Germany. As is often the case, K&C went with "cool markings" over historical accuracy. To my knowledge K&C has only producced the one paint job on the M18.

BINDER001:

Thanks for the info.
I found a discontinued K&C M18 in winter paint scheme with the name "Pork Chop" and #3046751 on the side. It's K&C model number is BBA011. I was curious what unit "Pork Chop" belonged to, if any?

My uncle just turned 87....He was a gunner on a Hellcat tank destroyer. His unit was the 705th tank destroyer btn. He served throughout Europe and had the distinction of serving alongside the 101st airborne at the siege of Bastogne to which his btn won a unit citation. I have a decent collection of battle of bulge pieces...german and american..and I have my 'uncle's Hellcat taking close aim. I wish they had one in winter camo, though....

Pork Chop (BBA011) is an M10 Tank Destroyer and was with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment which was part of Patton's 3rd Army. Formed in 1836, and still active today (now have Strykers), it is the longest continuously serving Regiment in the United States Army. It was actually at the Bulge and was probably whitewashed at some point that winter. Too bad the unit's insignia is not on the model. The 2nd Cavalry was Patton's reconnaissance unit and made one of the deepest penetrations into Germany and linked up with the Russians.

The model is a full 1/30 scale and I think one of the best and most historic K&C AFVs - lucky you could get one.

I agree 100%! The M10 was my first K&C purchase and I was lucky enough to grab a second one for repainting.

Unfortunately, I only found the photo and not the model. It looks like a really impressive.
