I had some other sets by Kingcast, but I sold them off over time. I have been a toy soldier collector since the end of 1991. By 2000 I have mainly purchased King & Country sets.

But, I still have the two Kingcast sets I liked best. Namely, Kingcast set K53 or BI-124 of a British Army Gatling Gun crew with two elephants one of which is "splayed" and being unloaded by three British Army soldiers. Each elephant has an Indian Army driver. At least 8 to 10 years back I got an offer of $700.00 from a collector in California, but I decided to keep it.

The other set I have kept for many years is Kingcast, Ltd. KLE-1. A limited Edition set number 34 of 250. The name of this set is "Saving the Colours at Isandhlwana" on 22 January 1879 in Zulu land.

A Peter Cowan as I remember it terminated Kingcast, Ltd in about 1994, but stayed in the toy soldier business after 1994 perhaps to the present time. These two Kingcast sets are among my very favorite, especially the dual elephant set.

I Purchased both of these Kingcast sets in the mid 1990s from my then local dealer Bill Schommer of the Toy Soldier Shoppe in Brookfield, WI. Please see three photos attached below.

Please feel free to post any photos you may have of other Kingcast sets that other collectors may still have now.

I really like Kingcast and have about a dozen Indian Army and a like number of artillery sets on display. They are becoming harder and harder to find these days. I'll locate the photos I have of my Kingcast sets and post them here.

I also have the BI-124 Black Watch Gatling Gun on Elephants set. I bought it used about a decade ago and have had it stored in its original two Kingcast boxes in my closet, all that time. I have decided to sell it. Do you happen to remember the name of the California collector. If not, I'll list on the Forum Classified section. Thanks.

Dear Mike:

Thank you very much for your comments on Kingcast sets. I do not recall the name of the California eBay buyer of some other item he purchased from me and I happened to bring up the duel elephant set (K53 or BI-124). I look forward to seeing your photos of your Kingcast sets.

Gary

Here is my Kingcast set BI-124 Black Watch Gatling Gun Battery. I have just posted it for sale in the Forum's Classified section.

Dear Mike:

Thanks for all your photos of your many splendid Kingcast sets! I shall watch your "For Sale Thread" at the Treefrog Treasures Forum of your Kingcast set BI-124 of the dual elephants of the British Gatling Gun set with interest. By the way, My Kingast B-124 set came in a dark green Kingcast set box labeled "K53". Apparently set numbers were changed over time by Kingcast. I started collecting as an adult in late 1991. If I had to do it all over again I would have gotten more Kingcast sets as they had unusual non-combat sets, etc. Of course I did not know that Kingcast, Ltd. would terminate in 1994.

Dear Gary:

You're welcome. I am glad you like them. Many Kingcast sets had two numbers which can be confusing. I regret not buying more of them when they were still available, but I have subsequently sold eight of the nine Indian Army "extra" sets I didn't have on display. The B-124 is the ninth such set.

Mike

Here are some more Kingcast sets on display...

They are the sets with eight figures displayed to the right of the Nickolson sets with six figures.
