Hi, whilst I was at the London Show yesterday with Roy (Old Bill), I picked up these pilot figures climbing into/out of WW1 aircraft, that I had commissioned David from TM Terrain to paint for me. They're resin and made by a company called 'The Fusilier'. David did an amazing job painting them...he doesn't just do dioramas!

Whilst they're 1:32nd scale, I thought they would look good with the KOTS aircraft.

I'm always looking for a new dimension in my displays, and I think these certainly add another.....

I'm really pleased with them.

Apologies for my poor photography skills!

Pete, those pilot figures are absolutely beautiful and add a moving dimension to the aircraft that really brings it all to life. Hard to say which one I like best, but the SE-5 pilot is special. And they all fit to a T, with no scale differences to my eyes. Just as an aside, the Udet D-7 with the red stripes is a gorgeous model. I have the black stripe version but am leaning towards adding the red stripe version because it looks so darn good. Congrats on the fine looking aircraft and pilots. -- Al

Your pics are great, Pete.:salute::

Why not pass them on to JJ.

Betcha he could develop something similar for us in pewter!

Hi Al,
Yes they are gorgeous figures, great sculpts and David did a magnificent job painting them. My favourite is the SE-5 pilot as well. The figure is called 'The Safe Return'. I like the red D-7, no room for both though!

Pete - your photo's are fine

A great idea of yours to try the Fusilier's figures, it worked a treat! Having seen them for myself at the show I can vouch for the detailed sculpting and outstanding paint work.

I must agree with you and Al - the SE-5 pilot is my favourite. Such a realistic pose.

(I see your cheeky new Crossley couldn't resist a spot of "photo bombing") ^&grin

Hahaha.....

Hi Chalklands,
Fantastic birds and the pilots hopping into the cockpits give a lot of sense of action to the scene......Coupled with other sets from the JJD series can make up a nice aerodrome!
I have a question for you: The WW1 Tender next to one of the planes, if I understand is also JJD? I am curious to know if the tender comes with a driver and if the cargo area behind covered by canvas is open to allow us to add cargo, or it is a solid block as with the other WW1 Trucks?
Cheers
Luiz

Hi Luiz,
Yes, it's the newly released Crossley Tender. No it doesn't come with a driver and the canvas cover is fixed, so you couldn't put a driver in anyway. Apart from that, it's a really nice model.

Hi Pete,
Thanks for the information! I will consider them......comes handy as a dio in a Quartermaster's or scouting party scenary.....
