What started as a nice Seehund find and a Tripoli port with some DAK soon had me searching for retired King & Country Kriegsmarine to create this diorama. Eventually I would like to add a custom Plexiglass display case.

The addition of the new Battle-Scarred Building was just a trial to see how it would look atop the jetty; but after seeing how it added some additional height and background, I've decided to leave it as part of the permanent scene.

I've also thought about placing the large gun in the doorway of the building but would need to move the jetty forward and add a platform behind the building. I would also lose the entire gun loading scene as pictured.

Still working on that right rear corner; just have not figured out how to fill the space - something will come along.

Comments welcome.

Struggling to see how to include the coastal gun, but I would consider duplicating the other end of the wharf with another walk bridge and a return wharf, which would do a couple of things. One it would balance out the scene and it appears to be room for it and secondly it provides serveral more surfaces to place figures/vehicles. The entire look may come across as a submarine pen. The big problem for the gun is it's large base which you could leave out and replace with a smaller piece of base and that way it may fit on this extra wharf. Just use for the base perhaps a piece of sheet metal which only sits like a pad extending fractional around the edge of the gun, to show it is mounted. Also consider a poster backdrop when you eventually get the cover. Great scene, agree leave the damaged building, looks appropriate. Keep supplying progress photo's. Robin.

Inspired by you WO, I have been fooling around with the same pieces. Does not help your project I know, but you never know.^&grin, Robin.

Excellent! Is that 4 jetties I see? What a scene. You've added some nice additions to supplement your Kriegsmarine as well. Very cool!

EDIT: Thanks for the tips as well. I could do another jetty but a bridge + jetty would not work; a little too long for the space. I had thought about a poster backdrop behind a plexiglass cover which I think would look really nice.
