Hi Treefroggers,

Last weekend at the Warlord Open Games Day in Oklahoma City we played 3 games; the scenario was based loosely on the 1759 Battle at La Belle Famille. Here are a few sample photos from our games and if you'd like to see more, please visit http://cluckamok.blogspot.com/

Bests,
Chris

What a great layout, always like a hoard of Red coats. The blog is interesting too. Robin.

Nice scene, like the tall timber and foliage.

As always, very nice. What was the size of the game table, how many players?

Matthew

Very neat! It looks great with all of those figures massed! Thanks for sharing.

You don't see many with wargame with 1/30. Glad to see your not afraid to change your figures like you did with the bases.

What a great setup.I'm sure everyone had a good time.I'm not familiar with this battle,but it is interesting to see French infantry and Indians attacking the British in fieldworks.Who won the real battle?

Hi Matthew,

The field of battle was 5' x 8' and we had 6 players for each of the first two games. Each side had 3 "brigades" ("commands" per the Warlord "Black Powder" rules) so each player commanded a brigade. I may be playing more with "Black Powder" as it gives a very nice feel for a small battle, as opposed to a skirmish. I like a few models on the table {sm4}

Bests,

Hi Mark,

Once I decided to do some repainting and varnish so the figures could be "handled," all bets were off!

Thanks (and to all who have commented)! The British won the real battle - they got to the clearing first and set up an ambush that caught the French in a murderous flanking fire. We changed the deployment for the game so the main bodies of both sides arrived at nearly the same time, which made for very tense, very close games.
