Thanks Donnie, that helps me put things in a bit better perspective. The 1 retired set from BM series that I am hoping to find is BM06, though I won't pay a ton for it. There is one on Ebay right now for @$165...?
Really appreciate the good information.
Dave
Dave,
If it was me I would start picking up the following first of John's sets. Depending on which series you are interested in. But if you are like the rest of us you will want all of them.
Here is the disclaimer (The below are my opinion and my pricing and are not meant to be the be all or end all. If you can get a BM-01 for retail let me know I will have 100 of them. I supply the below as information and to help fellow collectors and as my opinion what it is worth).
BM-01 to 03 if you can get any.
(current pricing $200 to $300+)
FM-01 & 02 if you can get any. ($200 to $250+)
FM-03 & 04 only a couple out there, going for $100 to $200+.
FM-05 which is also retired from John but still available from a couple of dealers for $50.
BM-06 the one eBay is a good price at $165 and I would be very surprised if it does not go for more than that. ($200+)
BM-07, 08 & 09 which are also retired from John but still available from a couple of dealers. But drying up quickly at retail prices. Grab what you want now or they will be gone. BM-07 first.
BM-04 which is also retired from John but still available from dealers for $69.
BM-05 will be the next to go retired.
BA-01 last time I spoke to John going to go retired early 2008.
That's the BM's & FM's.
My next pick would be the Snowshoes sets. SBX-01 gone already but a couple out there.
Next depends on what production numbers the USCH sets come out in, if 500 sets or under I think you would be smart to grab some. If 750+ which is likely you have some time.
QHL's and VM's next at 500 sets each should be next to go.
QB's and QF's next at 750 set will take a little longer.
WI's at 1000 sets and CAN's at 750 set last.
But than again it is only the 2 Jan 2008 and I have already been wrong this year.
Aussie Monty
Happy New Year
