Have read lots of accounts and watched lots of footage but it has just occured to me that it would be great to see GIs in LCVPs using their helmets to bail water out of the near swamping LCVP. Figures depicting men being sick and drinking from their canteens trying to calm their nerves.
Men standing with Bangalores, pole charges, demolition satchel etc! Men taking cover, holding crosses on their necklaces saying prayers, unwrapping waterproof covers from their weapons, men with packboards full of equipment!
