Great job. Really nice. Did this fellow start out as one of the single color pieces originally intended for the playsets?

Keep up the exciting work!

Yes, it was one of Conte's single color pre-primed pewter pieces. They are well worth the cost. So far I've painted two confederate 4-man gun crews (guns come painted), and this fellow (Confederate Officer coming in mail). I use Conte's 16-page catalogue of their American Civil War pieces as a color guide for their figures, and I also use Osprey's "Men-At-Arms" series or Histoire & Collections two volume set titled "Officers and Soldiers of The American Civil War". I also use as painting guides books by Don Troiani or Keith Rocco.

I used a Black Wash on parts of the flag, to show powder burns or battlefield distress; especially when flag is shedded.
