Had a pleasant surprise yesterday. I was in a model shop in central London and amongst their FOV display were a couple of 1/32 LAV-25s! An item which has been out of production for some time and which I've been after for some time and I've put in unsuccesful bids several times on Ebay, so I was delighted that I was able to pick up one for £40.00.

Now - if only I could find a Challenger!!!

good luck with that Challenger- quite a model- I always have my eye out for them. I was lucky to purchase one from a member of this forum.

Congrats on your purchases!

If you ever get tired of looking at your Challenger I can offer it a home!!

Hey Graycap-

thanks for the heads up and congrats on the acquisition. I have one of these as well though I had no idea they were fetching a premium. Nice to know.

Thanks

I do like the LAV-25 - it goes well with a FOV HUMVEE in IFOR colours. Its always surprised me how so much more popular some of FOVs output was/is compared to others in the range and how quickly some models dissapeared from retailers shelves into collectors display cases, garages or lofts! It would be interestin to know what the production runs were/are. You can still pick up, via ebay, their first Stug issue - Italy 1943 front. But the British Sherman 1943 Italian front they did a couple of yeas later vanished almost overnight! Also the winter versions of the StuG, Tiger and PzKwIV are exceeding rare. If youve got any of those well done!

Hi mate I have the lav-25 as well and wouldn't part with it for quids. The Challanger 2 tank in 1/32 scale took me along time to find. I now have it and my kids will sell it way after I am gone. Simmo.{sm0}

For all of you FOV fans, we carry (my business) Blackdog figures and armour accessories.

These accessories are 1/35 and would really help to jazz up your dios and set ups.
WW2 stuff too!
and 1/72nd scale....

PM me if you need more details.

And no- sorry- my Chally is not for sale- I do have a great modern 1/35thish scale Brit infantryman by frontline available though.

Target stores are carrying plastic versions of FOV stuff- need some work but the price is right !

Just doing a search on Ebay and for amoment my heart jumped! A mint 1/32 FOV Challenger on offer - unfortunately buyer is only selling within continental United States (its up to $51.00 so far with one day to go). I can understand that - it must be pain - specially dealing with customs forms etc but it is rather frustrating to us over here. After all IT IS A BRITISH TANK!! However, it does show that there still some out there not quite in captivity! Be intersting to see what it goes for.
