Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you have delved into the Lawrence of Arabia theme? I do not believe I've seen any dios from this theme on the forum. I was curious if it was a short-lived theme with just a few pieces and the year of release.

Afternoon Rob,

I was really close to hoping on the "Lawrence of Arabia" series.

First, because of the really GREAT name "LAWRENCE".
Now, I am not saying I am bias or anything :wink2: but it is just such a good name.

I also really like the sculpting and close resemblance to Peter O'tool and the movie is one of my fav's

But I never got into WWI and didn't want to start on the Turk series. If K&C did more than just a few of the mounted Arab riders I would have brought in.
But alas ...:redface2:

You know Andy ... NEVER say NEVER.

Andy re-released Lawrence last year so I don’t think he’s phasing it out.

You make me laugh, Larry. Definitely a great name! -and "Robert of Arabia" would certainly not have the same ring... {sm4}

Just noticed that one, Brad. Real close to the original (first release) as well? I didn't look close, but the camel cloth/saddle colors look different.

I like the sculpting of some of the figures, and they have some nice facial expressions that I always appreciate.

Rob,

I think they are great figures and a great series; Lawrence of Arabia is among my top five favorite movies.

I agree with that whole heartily. I believe the movie was Nominated for 10 Oscars and it won 7 or 8. Peter won the Best Actor award.

Peter O'Tool as always been on of my favorite actors, but I consider his role as T.E. Lawrence was his finest performance.

Appreciate the info guys.

I saw the movie years ago and don't even remember it - will have to hunt down a copy to watch. I don't think it's in any of my war film collections.

May have to have a closer look at these figures now.

It's on Hulu, if you subscribe to that channel. If not, it's on TCM from time to time.

You might want to check out Somerset figures, their range of Lawrence in Arabia in glossy is fantastic.
A bit pricey but well painted and sculpted.

Wish Andy would do a couple more, my Arabs are somewhere in this lot. Robin.
