K&C has announced a nice new model of the British-built Landing Craft, Assault (LCA). The June, 2009 issue of "Naval History" magazine has a themed issue on DDay. There is a centerfold that has the boat plan for the first wave at Omaha Beach and shows how the plan went awry. Anyway, it shows that 2 LCAs were used to deliver Company C, 2nd Rangers to Charlie Beach, 6LCAs were used for Company A of the 116th Infantry (29th Division) at Dog Green, 6 LCAs were used for Co. I of the 16th Infantry (1st Division) and another 6 were used for Co. L, both of the last were at Fox Green.
Bottom line - collectors who want to display the LCA with US Rangers or infantry are fully correct!
