Finally dug out this piece from obscurity. Might as well give it a go.

The surface of the white overspray was grimy so there was no choice but to soak the pieces in diluted dettol O/N and remove the paint.

These are beautifully sculpted and cast. The figures were fixed with drilled pin inserts and oversprayed with a fancier tamiya matt undercoat.

Painting has started on this couple. I also painted the base.
I found an old Phoenix tudor style storage chest so I might use it on this set, provided there is space to fit it in.

Starting to paint the details on the costume. I found a clear image by Francois Clouet as a ref.

I picked up this project and studied it. I realised that I stopped working on it as I didn't have a handle to hold it while it was being painted. Also the test fitting of the two figures seems to suggest an imperfect interlock between Anne's hand and her arm. So the solution was to epoxy fix the figures to the base to ensure a good fit before painting the pair. Hence I carefully drilled and positioned both figures to the base, leaving some space to place a small case after painting the dress. The final pose was achieved by carefully bending the figures to ensure a good fit.

I ptd Elizabeth’s dress as being more orange and then added added dark patches

An interesting period to paint. I do love the Tudor fashion of the time. More Elizabethan period than Henry. Good work.

Cheers,
