On of the great sport stories is about to come to fruition. In 2014 LC won promotion from the second division (called the Championship) to England's top division, the Premier League, but were almost relegated in 2015. Only a furious winning streak at the end of the season saved them. John Jenkins and I have corresponded about LC as he has been a supporter for over 40 years and watches all the matches and he was lamenting their impending relegation.

They are on the cusp of winning the Premier League, with a bunch of no name players. At the beginning of the season they were 5000-1 odds to win it all and their ambition was to avoid relegation. Think of the 69 Mets or the Jets beating the Colts or the US beating Russia in hockey and you have something similar.

LC has never finished higher than 2nd in the top flight and that was in 1928! Since the Premier League was founded, the big boys like Luverpool, Arsenal, Man U, Man City and Chelsea have shared the title, never a minnow.

John is beyond himself with excitement. I would say that many fans who support other teams are pulling for them.

They can clinch the title against Man U this Sunday. In the States the game is on at 9 on NBC Sports Channel. It is sure to be exciting.

No title today as LC drew with Man U, 1-1. Next week they get the chance to close the deal against Everton.

If Spurs don't beat Chelsea tomorrow evening, then Leicester will be crowned champions.

I almost hope Spurs win so LC can take care of it themselves although I'm sure fans like John don't care how they win it.

The incredible has happened. Leicester are Premier League Champions (as Spurs tied 2-2 with Chelsea).

A 5,000 to 1 odds has now come true.

Congratulations to John Jenkins and all Leicester supporters.

John just emailed me "CHAMPIONS! Lost for words...."
