Yo Troopers, Cavalry first in again lol, what would we have done without them. Now if this doesn't get more Cavalry issued, I am hanging the old Sabre up. Plus no plates for horses thank you very much. Mount Up.
Bernard.:D

I'm with you, Bernard, I'd like to see some of the Light Dragoons from the Seven Years War and Revolutionary War, in the Redcoats & Bluecoats line. I'd like to see some of the Continental horse, too (Lee's, Baylor's) or Pulaski at Savannah.

Prosit!
Brad

You know I'm for it, plates or no; just so long as the horses are properly done.:D;)

good question about the plates, why does the latest ceremonial figure need to have one?

Very right, Brad,
your word in "Britains" ears. I would very much appreciate mounted troops in their 18th century Classics line.
Just got into glossy cavalry and here are two pictures of my favorite out of the 5 Crimean War releases so far. It's the 11th Hussar.
But to be honest, he just won very slightly, the other four pieces are beautiful too. Really hope to see more mounted troops.

Yo Trooper, yes one nice piece the 11th Hussar, not quite as good as Captain Nolan. Would be great to see some Hussars in full dress mounted with Plumes and wearing the Pelisse (jacket hung over left shoulder) I only have one set like this as in my albums the 15th Hussars from the Peninsular War made by Alymer. Also slightly smaller horses as Britains size of the 1990s. They don't have to be charging just at the halt would do, there is nothing quite like seeing Hussars in full uniform its something special.
Bernard.

Bernard -- I was just thinking -- doesn't it seem strange the advances manking has made, like we can put a man on the moon, or, we can go anwhere in the world and make a cell phone call, or, we can communicate instantly with almost anyone in the world via the computer and internet, and yet, we have failed miserably to come up with a good cavalry figure that can be in a rearing or a charging position and not be placed on a base plate.

I think our priorities are messed-up!

Dick

Yo Dick, the Britains # 43127 11th Hussar shown, is a really excellent charging piece superb painting etc, but slightly bigger horse than the Britains 1990s Light Brigade, also the Hollowcast 2nd Dragoon rearing officer is a nice piece, the one in my album Jeff just changed into a 7th Dragoon. I would love to see something on the same lines as the Britains Hamley Hussar set again shown in my album, BUT without the plates and smaller horses as the 1990s issue's, now that would be nice to see. Hope you are logging all this good stuff BRITAINS lol.
Bernard.

Right, Bernard,
that Capt. Nolan is one fine piece too. What I like most with the new Britains Crimean War cavalry, all 5 different figures are on five different posed horses, not one fits all. Just hoping they come up with some more.
A Hussar with his pelisse over a shoulder would be wonderful.
Konrad
Here are the other 4 Crimean War cavalry.

Yo Trooper, this is what I am talking about its superb. Not knocking it but they seem to have got their dress periods slightly confused. The mounted wearing the Pelisse is from the 1840s so he should have double Gold stripes on trousers & the Shabraque should be Crimson. But besides that its just superb, I could never get hold of any Monarch items like this. Also what Regiment is the standing Hussar cannot see his Busby bag, but its the same photo I showed of the 7th Hussars, again a superb piece, Thanks for showing them Trooper.
Bernard.

The standing Hussar is listed as an 8th Hussar.

Have you seen any of the Hocker sets Bernard?

Yo scott yes seen Hockers, but he dont have anything I need. Can see the Standing Hussar is the 8th its nice but like all mine mounted. I have a couple in the sets Standing but wouldn't buy one on its own. Its like having a Tankie with no Tank lol.
Bernard.

Isn't there a set out there (probably older Britains) that has four dismounted Hussars but with their mounts standing by?
Pretty sure I saw it before but don't remember the manufacturer.

Hi Konrad,

I think the set you mentioned is Britains Set #182, 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) Dismounted with Horses. Check the pictures below and see if they match what you remember.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Lovely set Pat, one which I believe Bernard already has as well.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your warm comment. I have always felt this set was somewhat special. I am very pleased to have it in my collection.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Yes, Pat,
