What can I say... one of the most timeless toy soldiers ever made! Not a lot of variety in poses, but a massed display of these ACW troops (i.e. infantry, cavalry, artillery and limber sets) just captivates me and works well in a diorama! :)

I do not have any Britains Swoppets, but I have a collection of Timpo swoppets. Swoppets are cool figures.

Agreed. All hail Swoppets. I now enjoy a large collection of ACW Swoppets - after recovering all the figures I had lost when I was growing up. Swoppets are still some of the most well conceived toys ever made by Britains and it boggles me to think that they can re-release the Detail range but not the Swoppets? Swoppets still command interest on the secondary market and are becoming harder and harder to find as they age. There is a museum in Victoria, B.C. that has several immense dioramas using nothing but Britains Swoppets and herald figures. Incredible to see if you ever get the chance. I do have pictures I have taken over the years. It is called Miniature World. Cheers, ssorc1

Is Victoria BC on Vancouver Island? I was there four years ago but did not know about such a museum. Too bad it sounds really cool

Yes, the museum still exists. It's in the Empress Hotel in Victoria. It's a museum of miniature dioramas. They have several military-based dioramas using Britains swoppets, heralds and eyes right models with a few deetail thrown in (i.e. without the metal bases) for variety. They have dioramas of the "Battle of Bull Run", "Saratoga" and "Custer's Last Stand". An interesting museum and a "must" attraction in Victoria for those having interest in dioramas. :)
