Re: The 3 Surprises

In the end, I do not think the diorama base (which looks really nice in the picture) would have increased the "shock and awe" created by Figarti's Tiger. Displayed on a diorama, it would have just been another Tiger tank. But opened up ... WOW!!!

In addition, there were lots of complements on the other Lewis & Clark diorama that did arrive.:)

Steven,

That Lewis and Clark diorama was the 1st of its kind. My dioramas are mostly WW2. I am very happy to hear of the compliments.

Re: The 3 Surprises

Did anyone take any photos of the Lewis and Clark diorama with the ***arti figures on it? If so, I sure would like to see it....
Thanks.

Re: The 3 Surprises

Hey Nick that one arrived in pretty good shape.........what did we take two hours to pack it......I still can't get over the disappointment of the other one not showing up........I think that one took even longer to pack, and we even included Elmers glue to fix anything that broke....Maybe we should have packed a GPS with it:D :D

Re: The 3 Surprises

Mr Leadmen, thanks a million for the photo! The picture looks good to me. Were there any other figures to the Lewis and Clark collection?

GPS, Glue Packed Seperate? LOL. The next time I make telephone poles they will not be fastened to the diorama. I'll make the poles like the way I made those trees for the Lewis and Clark diorama. Color coated base for each and placed into position at the show.

There were a couple other dogs - but other than that I don't think so.

Yes just a couple of other dogs. Since I bought the entire collection from Peter at the show it has become my favorite . I plan on attempting my first diorama in a long time with the help of my 7 yr. old daughter. She loves the dogs. Since I love history and this is something new for me not being necessarily military I think it will help my daughter appreciate my collection a little bit more. Rick and his father said they plan on doing Indians and such for future releases. I saw his father buying some of Barzso's buffalo so I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them too. I hope the diorama my daughter and me do is as good as the one you guys did for Figarti:)

Thanks for the info. That Lewis and Clark diorama was the 1st time I made something other than WW2. Good luck on your project! If it doesn't come out good and I get mine back, maybe you can acquire it....Thanks again...

Re: The 3 Surprises

There were a couple other dogs ...
Those who have some knowledge of the expedition know that Lewis brought along his black Newfoundland dog, Seaman. Figarti decided to do Seaman in four poses, adding flexibility to his display options.:)

I just figured if Lewis and Clark encountered snow in June like Pete and I did in Yellowstone in 1994 they were ready to hitch the canoe to the dogs, jump in and yell Mush! :D Who needs huskies when you have Newfoundlands I guess.

I am glad my Dad decided to do the Lewis & Clark series and with Jack Updyke's help, we will be putting more effort behind this to continue the story. Matt at Hobby Bunker wanted us to do Lewis & Clark but I was actually hoping to focus more on WWII, but after the Chicago show, I am glad we did it but then again, Dad is the boss!

Rick, I'm laso glad that you did the Lewis and Clark series because it gave me the opportunity to create something different other than WW ll dioramas. I'm very happy that your dad liked it....
