From First Legions website:

Our 54mm Napoleon's Europe toy soldiers are limited edition collectibles. As such, we plan on producing a maximum of 500-1,000 of any individual figure and much fewer than that of many of our releases. We have thus classified the rareity of the figures into three classifications:

Limited Edition: A product code that is marked as Limited Edition will have less than 1,000 of it produced.

Extremely Limited Edition: A product code that is marked as Extremely Limited Edition will have less than 500 of it produced.

Special Collector's Set: A product that is marked as a Special Collector's Set will have less than 200 of it produced, unless otherwise noted. Though it could be comprised of elements that are released elsewhere, there will always be at least something in the set that will only have 200 of it produced. For example, SET NAP0019 the French 12lb Gun and 7 Crew Figures will be the only way to get the Artillery Drummer and the 12lb gun.

Additionally the recent mounted special collectors sets are being released with a limit of 150 for Colbert and Prince of Orange and 180 for Lord Uxbridge

With the above in mind I would welcome some clarification from Matt or FL or any other serious collector relating to the actual numbers of each figure to be produced. I have noticed that FL will be re stocking French Line Infantry codes that are already out of stock /sold out in early 2010 does this mean that more than the 500 originally produced for this extremely limited Edition product will be manufactured.

I dont mind paying for what is a quality product if they are in fact extremely limited edition or limited edition or special collectors sets as described /advertised. why are the figures not then numbered 1-500 or 1-1000 if actually only produced in such low quantities as are almost all other limited edition items offered for sale elswhere.

The FL range of figures are very good and those collecting any respectable amount of them are involved in making a sizeable investment over time.

IMO they should only be referred to as Limited edition/ Extremely Limited edition figures if they are in fact numbered to reflect this exclusivity. as we the customer have no way of knowing how many units of each are actually produced.

This can only be in the best interest of collectors long term.

That said FL products continue to delight me on a daily basis

Happy New Year to all collectors
